2024 football schedule release on Big Ten.

Nebraska entered in 2011. SF wasn’t the head coach.,

Yes, Im aware Frost wasnt coach in 2011.

Since the schedule rotates every two years - will this not be our fate every other year??
No

It’ll reset after 2 years

I’m so jealous of pennst having zero permanent opponents.

exactly what we should have, with a guaranteed Black Friday game like the cowboys where the opponent rotates.

Let the lame old B1G teams play their inconsequential rivalry games in the corner by themselves so they can continue to act like they still matter when they hand out the stupid meaningless trophies

There is no big ten west anymore and it is a big problem if we start to consider teams in the former big ten west as “peers”. God I wish some of our fans would remember we are a blue blood and stop being such whiny little bitches

Mike Schaefer has completed his transition into little bitch B1G fan, it seems

Nobody wants to play purdue, iowa, illinois, nw, etc

Teams in the B1G west Ioway, Minnesota and Wisconsin have played in the conference for ever year, I get why thy would get 3 and NU would get one being in the conference for only 11 years..

will still play Minnesota and UCLA two years in a row like I predicted..

I don’t get this take by Schaefer. If the goal is to play all big 10 teams every year - why does it matter?

We are a blue blood - there are 3 other blue blood programs in the conference - 4 if you include Penn state

At least one of those should be our rivals and when actually asked we meekly submitted Minnesota and Wisconsin

Penn State requested OSU
Geographical being neighbor states, I guess that is why they choose them..

Ultimately I like the elimination of divisions and like that we will play everyone every two years. I think the Big10 got it right. Either we should have no rivals or Iowa. I get the blue hood thing but the hatred runs deep between fan bases and if we can pull our head out we will dominate them as we did with CO back in the day. Good stuff - I’m pumped! So long as I don’t have to stay up until midnight to watch us kick West coast butt.

Anyone with half a brain knew we were only going to have one rival and it was going to be Iowa

You submit USC and Penn state citing that these are the three most recent blue blood additions to the conference and we think it is important that these historic programs play every year

It wasn’t going to happen but at least you come off as having a pair of testicles instead looking like a freshly castrated eunuch by submitting Minnesota and Wisconsin

hatred runs deep?

maybe iowa fans hate us, but every NU fan I know either feels bad for iowa fans or is completely apathetic toward them

we've got guys on here openly posting about having iowa fan friends. that's a rivalry?

NU fans hate for texas is magnitudes greater than hate for IA. A lot of fans respect IA for what they've done with limited recruiting. IA's respectable but never going to win anything worth remembering.

I suggest you show Trev your testicles and tell him this is the way it should have been.

I would happily express my thoughts to Trev with regards to this issue, but not after discussing my distaste for his handling of the men's hoops program

I want the big dogs on the schedule. God damn it, we belong with usc, Michigan, Ohio state and Penn state. Tired of giving a **** about the other b10 bottom barrel scraps
So you must be happy that we will play all the big dogs every two years?

The big 4 right now are USC-Michigan-OSU and Penn St (UCLA doesn’t belong in this group)

We play those teams 4 times in 2024-25

Illinois -5x
NW - 5x
Indiana 4x
OSU 4x
Iowa 4x
PSU 4x
Maryland 5x
Purdue 4x
Michigan 4x
Rutgers 4x
MSU 6x
Ucla 5x
Minnesota 4x
USC 4x
Wisc 5x

There are plenty of teams that play 3 of the big 4 in one season and 5 teams that play them more than we do in a 2 year span

It sounds as if we might get a three-out-of-every-four-years kind of rivalry with Wisconsin and or Minnesota, meaning they'll be a "two-play" opponent for a couple of years, then a "one-play" for a couple of years, and then back and forth with that.

So when the 2026 and 2027 schedules come out, we'll still have Iowa as our protected opponent, while Wisconsin and Northwestern or USC rolls onto the two-play rotation. Then back to UCLA and Minnesota for 2028 and 2029 if those still seem like important rivalries.

Lol MSU gets out of the Big Ten East and their reward is playing the “Big 4” 6 times in 2024-2025

Yeah, I really don't get the whole Iowa is suddenly a rival thing - when we were in the Big 8 and Big 12, every single Nebraska fan I knew regarded the Hawkeyes - if they thought of them at all - as nothing more than "the Iowa school we don't play".

I would have preferred having Michigan on the schedule one year and Ohio St the next year instead of having neither on the schedule one year 2024, and both on the schedule like in 2025..

Have no issues playing UCLA both years..

Can someone tell me how they came to the conclusion that Penn St would have no protected rivalry game ? And how did they come up with Purdue and Illinois protected opponents…
