2024 football schedule release on Big Ten.

I had access to all games. For $10/month (maybe $15?) more on Dish. Then I would drop the package down to regular after the last NU game.

So for the cost of one PPV game I could upgrade my package for 4 months. I also had to upgrade for games when we were in the Big 12 to get the games on the western ski channel or whatever channels those games were on. I also straight up couldn't get PPV games if I wasn't at home or in Nebraska. Out of state bars don't tend to carry Husker PPV games unless you are in a big city.
a.) seems like a hassle
b.) you don't watch basketball?

I really think people here posting about how much they miss the Big 12 are seeing it through rose-colored glasses and nostalgia. At least a couple people have admitted that.

Because that conference fvcking sucked for Nebraska.
I'm seeing it through used to be relevant and win and now we're a joke and have "rivals" like Iowa colored glasses.

a) not really. 1 phone call in August to upgrade. 1 phone call after black Friday to downgrade. I switched to YouTube TV last year because my family just doesn't watch TV during the warm months. So now I keep YouTube TV until the super bowl.

b) No. I'll watch a few a NU games but I would rather take the kids to high school games.

A problem that can be solved by winning which would make them relevant again. Conference has little to do with that.

Mike Riley and Scott Frost would have also sucked in the Big 12.

so, that's now twice as many phone calls for half a season (at minimum) of PPV games

instead of 1 PPV game every so often

I don't really see that as a monumental improvement, but maybe I'm wrong

I think you are missing the point that I got access to every game, no worries. Finding random NU games when not in Nebraska or the Big 12 footprint was tough sometimes. Sometimes impossible. Most people it wasn't a problem. It was for me. That instantly changed with the first game in the Big 10.

Ordering games off PPV was no cakewalk either. Or figuring out how to get the fly fishing channel or whatever obscure network was carrying NU vs. whatever random team.

How do you get to this point?? The other big 8 schools caved to the former swc schools rather than just expanding the big 8. Then nearly every vote went 11-1 against NU. I guess if you look past those facts, then yes NU said screw this and moved on. But not after UT, ou, osu and t a&m were pulling funny shenanigans

Nebraska finally had a favorable schedule next year and now will play @USC @Oregon @Ohio St

Finally had a favorable schedule? Have you looked at our recent schedules, including this year?
This year isn't bad but we do open up with two road games - who does that? 2021 we played Oklahoma, Ohio St Michigan, and Michigan St who won 11 games. Last year is simialr to this year. Oklahoma wasn't that good but most times are and we played @ Michigan. In comparisons to Iowa and Wisconsin I guess is what I'm doing. 25' we were supposed to play @ Cinci, @ Ohio St, @USC, Michigan, UCLA.

in 24 Iowa is at OSU and USC numb nuts. Or at least they were until todays events. Probably will change yet again.

How quickly can they get out new schedules once the new schools are accepted? They need to have that out within a month or so for planning purposes, right?
