Reports are in that former West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez is going to be hired as the next head coach at West Virginia. With Frost going back to UCF happening as well and with Rutgers getting back on track with Schiano. Maybe what's old can be what's new. I mean North Carolina is replacing one old guy with a championship pedigree with another.

If Ryan Day gets fired at Ohio State, Billy Napier at Florida, and Mike Norvell gets tomahawked in Tallahassee. Maybe Meyer, Spurrier and Fisher get their old offices back.

Lastly if Rhule doesn't get at least 8 wins next year, perhaps recent Hall of Fame Frank Solich gets a call. Maybe USC calls Pete Carroll. Alvarez at Wisconsin, Ferentz at Iowa......scratch that last one.

Did I miss any?

I believe Butler will be successful here. But we are going to need to get him media training because I can’t listen to pressers where he uses these two phrases 20+ times for very long.

His name seems to fly under the radar when it comes to people evaluating coaching performance. He might be the most important assistant we have, yet not a peep about him compared to Satt, Foley, Butler, etc...should he get a free pass? Is he doing a good job because we put out youtube videos of guys running stadium steps in the summer?

I honestly have no idea, but I will say this: While the team overall looks bigger and has more bulk than prior coaching staffs, it is apparent that our overall team speed and explosiveness is lacking...especially in key areas like RB, WR, TE, LB, and DB. What does it say when our most ahtletic player on either side of the ball is a freshman (Barney) or a transfer (Wright) who are both in their 1st year in the program?

I'm genuinely curious on everyone's thoughts.

I've searched on this board but I can't find the Husker's practice schedule for The Pinstripe Bowl.

I assume we begin practice on Monday the 16th? Any other tidbits, like when does the team depart for NYC and maybe a list of team activities while they're in The Big Apple?

Won the 2024 HS Butkus Award, given annually to the top HS LB in the country. Anyone else see/read this? Just curious if this is an actual thing.
