The B1G will most likely adopt the 3+6 scheduling model so each team will have 3 permanent rivals and 6 teams they play for home/away for two years and the remaining 6 teams for a home/away the following two years.

Of course, the B1G will need to match up each team with 3 permanent rivals so who would you most like Nebraska's permanent rivals to be?

Here is our history with each team:
Illinois - Nebraska leads 13-6-1 (First game was played in 1892 - last game was played in 2022)
Indiana - Indiana leads 10-9-3 (First game was played in 1936 - last game was played in 2022)

Slowing the game down

I know it has been mentioned before, I think it is time to slow it down for the offense, especially if Smothers or Purdy get the start. The hurry up with Purdy is only making matters worse, a little slower may settle him down.
I think our defense will be spending alot of time on the field and the more time they have to rest/recover/learn the better off they will be.

Volleyball Redshirt Question

Did the NCAA change the volleyball redshirt rules like they did in football allowing the players to play 4 games / matches before they burn an entire season of eligibility? We have a player or two that have played in a few matches that I could take advantage of a change, one that comes to mind is Hayden Kubik. I believe she has played in 3 matches this year.

2022 National Runner-Up Ridge Lovett to redshirt for 2022-2023 Season

Nebraska wrestling head coach Mark Manning confirmed to me tonight that 2022 National Runner-Up Ridge Lovett will use his redshirt year for the 2022-2023 season. Lovett hopped into the 133 pound slot as a true freshman before storming through the NCAA Tournament at 149 pounds last season as a sophomore. He will have two more seasons of eligibility after his redshirt this season.

"Obviously, last year he bumps up two weight classes. You don't see that often in college wrestling, so obviously had a great year, finished national runner-up" Manning said. "We want to give him this year to be able to develop and keep developing better skills. Ridge can make a big jump and then he'd have two years of eligibility left to see where his ceiling is."

Most of the skepticism from this decision deprives from Cornell's Yianni Diakomihalis who's still at 149. Diakomihalis is the one who beat Lovett in last year's national title bout. Asked point blank if this decision was to avoid him, Manning said that isn't the case.

"If you redshirt you're not going to face him, so unless Ridge goes to open tournaments where Yianni is. I don't think Ridge is afraid of Yianni," Manning said. "It's more for Ridge Lovett to develop and become the best that he can become. It's going to give Ridge a chance to really develop rather than just compete and there's a difference. When you give time off to not just focus on competition each and every week, it gives you time to develop more of a skill set...That's going to give Ridge Lovett the best opportunity to be a two-time national champion."

Volleyball Three Thoughts on Laney ChoBoy's Commitment

A historic class just got stronger when Laney ChoBoy committed to Nebraska last night, making all five of the Husker recruits inside the top 15 prospects in the country. Nebraska continues to be the gold standard in modern day recruiting and as a result, the quality of volleyball inside Devaney won't be dropping anytime soon.
