Charlie McBride's D

when Osborne retired, the entire 90s did not retire with him. one-half of the 90s teams continued for 2 more years: Charlie McBride and his suffocating, relentless, game-winning Blackshirts. this game vs A&M is a good example: NU had all the offensive talent in the world, including a great offensive line, speed and power at skill positions, and a future heisman winner. yet watch how Charlie's defense bails the inept offense out again and again.
Login to view embedded media by halftime, Charlie's D held A&M to 3 rushing yards, a total of 46 yards, caused 3 turnovers, 2 sacks, and led to 6 of NU's total 9 points. i miss that D almost as much as i miss Osborne's O.

What is your level of interest in the Michigan game?

  • I will be glued to the game, keenly interested and looking for signs of hope

  • It depends what else is on. I might flip over to it off and on.

  • I have seen this horror movie before. I might just check the score afterwards.

  • Just let me know when they hire a new coach.

Dino Babers, Deon, Mickey, Jay Norvell

I want any of these guys to lead the program. Babers had done great things in Upstate NY. Deon would be massively fun. Naysayers hate the idea because of their 190,000 reasons, but when was the last time Husker Football was actually fun? Mickey would do a great job and already has, with the only good players on the team being kids he brought here. Norvell is the "proven head coach" that some people need. Anyone who can say all four of these guys would be bad hires are the same people who would trash a whole list of 10-15 more realistic candidates, and probably not be completely happy with any hire.

Volleyball No. 4 Nebraska sweeps Iowa in 300th consecutive sellout

Another day, another sweep for Nebraska who moves to 36-0 all-time against Iowa and 135-3 all-time against Iowa schools.

As far as volleyball is concerned, Nebraska owns Iowa.

I loved typing that sentence. Hit the link for more including a Jordan Larson comparison 👀

Based on the data, it is absolutely not a stretch to say that no college football player in recent history meant as much to their team as Tommy Armstrong Jr. did. We're going on 6 years of a completely rudderless ship, uninspired play, and a lack of confidence and toughness.

The guy literally almost died on a football field and a couple of hours later, we get:

There will never be another one like him. These seasons of abject failure and losing have only led me to appreciate The Gun even more than I did back then.

Do we actually know anything about who Trev is considering

We have all followed the coaching search, but do we know if Trev is actually considering any of these guys except Mickey? We get a lot of "it's been reported", I call that "as rumor has it". Or "I have it on good information", or "I know a guy who I really trust" etc. Trev has managed to keep any information out of the North building very tight. That, in and of itself, is very impressive. I read a recent article that says "it's been very quiet", very quiet from whom? I guess other sports writers. Names come up and then every sports writer in Nebraska goes off and writes the good, the bad, and the ugly about the guy, and people on this bord do the same. Anyway, we aren't too far from the end and we are anxiously awaiting the outcome, and, like the midterm elections Ill be glad when it's over. Of course, just like the midterm elections, reporters and all of us will start speculating about one thing or another going into the future.

Will michigan be able to adjust to our passing game?

I been assured by many that running the ball would keep us mid level in big 10 west with maybe a win over iowa or wisconson once in a while.
thus we have become a high level passing to team compete with ohio state and the like.
which sounds great!

also, how are we going about recruiting manning to continue this passing success?
please advise.
