We haven’t won a game since he became our coach!

Rhule will know a lot of Coaches around the country. He would need Great Coaches that can and will Recruit.

And having been out of the College Game for a few years, Rhule will be starting from scratch on recruiting. He would have no infrastructure in place.

Not only hiring Coaches, it will be interesting to see if he retains any of the Nebraska Recruiting Staff.

Anyone with access to other boards willing to post reactions to the hire? Always found that to be an interesting/fun read.

Benched or hurt? The Howard kid has certainly been better the last few weeks.

Just too soft. They can recruit all the 5-star WRs in the world to beat Indiana and Maryland, but they can’t be physical against teams with similar talent.

Just be prepared for Rhule to say a lot of good things about him. He may even say how he will ask for advice. This is called starting off on the right foot and coach speak. It is the smart thing to do. Trust me, TO is not going to be breaking down game film with the guy. Time to leave the past in the past and move forward.

What team/players full of 6+ year players ( Covid + injury yr) are you excited to finally see gone?!..ie., Iowa’s linebackers and Minnesotas entire offense. 😂

Bettor placed that bet for the money line at Wynn. That seems like a really lousy risk to me. I could easily see Michigan winning that game outright. I did not care about that game before I read that article, now I'll prolly tune in, haha.

Only beating the unranked teams on our schedule would be a hell of a start.

This is what happens when you wait too long to jump to a better job. He's had other opportunities but he waited too long and now will get bogged down in ISU purgatory.

Mickey Joesph and Bill Busch are pulling their 2nd and 3rd tour of duty in Lincoln.

They are quality men and Coaches, and they have a passion for Nebraska. I would appreciate a positive way for them to finish their careers here.

If indeed Rhule is the guy, here are some perspectives of Rhule that I have as someone who has dual fandom with Nebraska and Baylor…

1. Love the hire. Rhule is a great guy and loved by his players.

2. Rhule has historically sacrificed year 1 for the bigger picture. Temple and Baylor had terrible years in year 1 under Rhule, and at times in year 1 at Baylor, it seemed that some games could have been won if Rhule had prioritized winning those games more than he prioritized the process and the long term vision. That being said, be patient and don’t be too quick to judge him off of 2023. (There are reasons to believe year 1 at Nebraska can and should be better than his first years at those schools, but still something to keep in mind)

3. Rhule doesn’t mind, and perhaps he likes, winning in a “boring” way. As a defensive guy, Rhule prioritizes limiting possessions of the opponent. As a fan, it can be very frustrating that Rhule’s teams don’t seem to go for the kill shot when they have a lead in the 4th qtr. That being said, his Baylor teams in year 2 & 3 had a GREAT record in 1 score games. Those teams ran the ball and played great defense in order to win.

All that to say, if Rhule is the guy, don’t judge by year 1, and expect a brand of football that results in a lot of close games (we’re used to that), but we will be on the right side of those games more often than not. That brand is probably what we need right now.

With all the deadlines with early signing and recruiting. How long till we learn of Rhule staff ?
