Despite being the only recruit that Fred has brought in so far, I've kept up with Rice at IMG, and I really like what I see. I don't know how much to scale him to higher level of competition, but I think they found something with him. An off the radar find too.

Tried to find overall season stats, but no luck. He's had a fairly good season to date though after moving up from small ball Tennessee to IMG. Will be interesting to continue to follow.

I just read a fantastic article called "Bison Ecology and Bison Diplomacy: The Southern Plains from 1800 to 1850" that reshaped my view on the plains Indians and the American Bison.

The Indians specifically killed young female Bison in their mating years because the meat and hides were higher quality. Combine that with diseases brought from stealing cattle, drought, and loss of habitat from large mustang heards all lead to the Bison population collapsing in the southern plains 20-30 years before the "Buffalo Wars" in the 1870s and 1880s.

The Huskers are continuing their push in their recruitment of Dylan Raiola – the Nebraska legacy, five-star QB and No. 1-ranked overall player in the 2024 class.

Multiple sources have told me that Nebraska OC/QBs coach Marcus Satterfield is visiting Chandler High School today. Multiple sources have said that Satterfield has already been seen in Arizona on Wednesday. Satterfield's trip follows up Matt Rhule's visit to Chandler on Friday to watch Raiola throw.

Take a deep breath, Nebraska fans. It's still very early, and Georgia is still in the driver's seat right now. And I believe USC will have a say as well, mostly because of Lincoln Riley. But multiple people have told me that the Nebraska staff is making a great impression so far – most notably Rhule and Satterfield. The Huskers have put themselves in the race.

The Big Ten Conference announced Sunday morning that the Nebraska-Northwestern men's basketball game originally, scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 24, has been moved to Wednesday, Jan. 25. More info is inside:

Northwestern has had to postpone its past two games — against Iowa and Wisconsin — because of COVID-19 health and safety protocols and injuries.

Not saying they should…in fact I despise cancel culture, and think it’s all ridiculous oversensitivity…but it definitely seems the Chiefs are the darlings of the normally extremely PC NFL.

Former LSU and Georgia TE Arik Gilbert has committed to the Huskers.

Gilbert was a five-star prospect, the No. 1 TE and No. 9 overall player in the 2020 class. He is the Huskers’ 10th transfer addition of the offseason, their second from Georgia and sixth from the SEC:

For those of you who have seen, what say you?

I realize we have yet to play a game and nobody now or 2 months ago was expecting BIG West or BIG title next year…but haven’t heard a peep from him about the great job this staff is doing in recruiting out of the gates..

After all, wasn’t one of his biggest complaints about how we wouldn’t be immediately improved with Matt Rhule? and going to take too long time to build it?…like we had any shot of securing the only guaranteed turnaround in Meyer or Saban. Everyone knew that wasn’t happening. I just hope he’s OK and hasn’t taken too many hits to the head because it completely appears like he was letting his bitterness and grudge towards Trev takeover any logical pro or con of Matt Rhule hire

Big game in State College, PA.

Nebraska (10-9, 3-5 Big Ten) is at Penn State (12-6, 3-4) with the tip set for 1:15 p.m. The game will be televised on Big Ten Network with Jason Ross Jr. and Jess Settles on the call.

Here's a bit of pregame reading:

1) Would Danny Woodhead have been a Heisman finalist had he gotten the same opportunity & offensive placement as Marlon Lucky (Lucky 75+ catches & multi-purpose weapon a couple of years before that position really transformed into the 'dual-threat' RB/playmaker position it is today)

2) Would Baker Steinkuhler be starting for the Bengals as an OT (if not for the complete & utter inability for Bo & Carl Pelini to land interior DL players - coming off the SUH years no less)

Heard from national recruiting analyst Nick Harris who is plugged in down in Texas. Aeryn Hampton is at a 7on7 tournament in Miami and not visiting Nebraska this weekend.
