Recruiting 2023 safety Rahmir Stewart locks in Nebraska official visit

The news just won't stop around Nebraska football right now. Philadelphia three-star safety Rahmir Stewart just let me know that he will be taking an official visit to Nebraska Dec 16-18.

His offer list is damn impressive with 32 reported offers from around the country. As of right now all five official visitors for next weekend are on defense.

Volleyball All-American setter Mac Podraza enters the transfer portal

Nebraska has its transfer portal target. Ohio State setter Mac Podraza has entered the transfer portal. The Big Ten Setter of the Year racked up over 4,001 assists in four seasons with the Buckeyes who continue to see players flee the program as they welcome in five new freshman this fall.

I mentioned last week that the Huskers could target a superstar setter if one enters the portal. Now, they have their top target. The only thing in their way is getting a scholarship for her. Or NIL.

ITT - Name a must read or really good book

I'll start -The Hobbit - I know it's a popular movie, but it's one of the greatest books of all-time overall. A must read for any fantasy lover as those tales spawned many like them.

"Moral Victories"......

I so hope to put this term to bed in the next couple of season, but I was wondering..........Do you think our current coaching staff uses the close losses over the past two seasons as a recruiting tool? As if to say, "with the previous staff, this team was very close to prominence again, with our coaching staff and you, we will rise to that same prominence once again!". Or am I completely insane to think this??

FWIW - Mickey Joseph now Officially Terminated

Not that it comes as a surprise but this is the first official word I've seen of Mickey being terminated by the University:

“Coach Joseph is no longer part of the University of Nebraska football program or an employee of the University,” a spokesman for NU Athletics said Friday. Joseph's separation date was Dec. 6. The University spokesman declined to address questions about his compensation status.

As an aside, Mickey denies the alleged felony charges and will appear in Court in January.

Recruiting Lincoln High ATH Beni Ngoyi added to final OV weekend

We mentioned in the big visit preview for this weekend that Nebraska was still looking to add a big visitor or two for a loaded final weekend before signing day. One that I can report now is that Lincoln High 3-star ATH and current Iowa State commit Beni Ngoyi is on campus right now for an official visit.

Nebraska's new staff has made Ngoyi a priority since taking over the program. He's really the perfect recruit for this staff because of his versatility as a football player and terrific track results. This is the second time that he's been on campus since Matt Rhule took over. He was on campus for the Junior Day a couple weeks ago. Ngoyi has been committed to Iowa State since July.

Rhule Earning his Money

Some coaching staffs (Bill Snyder's comes to mind) seem to have the knack for finding outstanding high school prospects that have been overlooked by all the big programs. Rhule seems to fall into that category. People have done a lot of griping about the current staff, but Rhule has built a staff with connections seemingly everywhere, particularly Texas Florida, and the Northeast. It's not a coincidence his staff is packed with recruiting coordinators (Ed Foley, Evan Cooper, EJ Barthel, and Tony White).

Frankly, some of the most exiting film I've seen comes from low rated prospects Rhule is targeting. I'm convinced the Husker are now playing "MoneyBall."
