Recruiting Couple pregame recruiting notes

- After locking down his recruitment, 2025 athlete commit Jeremiah Jones made the trip to Lincoln for the final home game. Huskers are now on track to get his signature on Dec. 4 despite Missouri's push to flip him away. Big, big deal for the Huskers getting him to shut his recruitment down and getting him back in town. Worth noting, he spent a lot of time around Garret McGuire, Jamar Mozee and the wide recievers, we're expecting him to begin his career on the offensive side of the ball now, but I still think he finds his way to the defensive side of the ball at some point.

- A visitor in town that wasn't previously on the list: 2026 Chattanooga (Tenn.) McCallie School four-star cornerback Chaston Smith, who is a top-100 prospect in the Rivals250 and a top-ten cornerback in the country. He did recently announce a top five, that Nebraska wasn't in, and is expected to announce a commitment on Dec. 1. We'll see if this visit changes that.

- While 2026 Honolulu (Hawaii) Kamehameha four-star offensive tackle Malakai Lee made the trip from the island, we did not spot Cal three-star athlete commit Aiden Manutai on the sideline and per sources he did not make the trip. We reported earlier this week Cal was making efforts to keep him committed, we'll be monitoring to see if he shows up at Berkeley today.

OT: Village Piemaker pies yummie for Thanksgiving.

For you guys who don't have expert Thanksgiving pie bakers in your house, Village Piemaker pies made in Omaha and in the freezer case are OUTSTANDING. My experience is that the strawberry rhubarb and peach pies are great but I'm allergic to apples but I think they're good too. My MIL and wife are great pie makers but these frozen pies are as good or better. IME the peach pie takes 10 minutes or so longer than the directions suggest. Put some foil or something on the rack below them because they can run over they're so chock full of yummy fruit. And NO I don't work for Village Piemaker. Just a tip to make your Thanksgiving a little better!

Basketball Huskers head to Creighton for rivalry game, first true road test

Nebraska heads to Omaha to face No. 14 Creighton on Friday.

It's in-state rivalry time. CU embarrassed NU in Lincoln last season. NU upset CU in Omaha two seasons ago.

"I think it matters to the fanbases obviously a lot," Fred Hoiberg said of the NU-CU matchup. "I played in a great rivalry with Iowa State-Iowa and coached in that rivalry. This is now going into year six in this rivalry in this state. The weird thing about this one is that, on the next day, a lot of those fans will be cheering for Nebraska on the football field. It's always been a little bit bizarre to me."

Football Butler on the radio: Readjusting eyes and taking the "small victories"

John Butler needed to readjust his eyes when going from coaching NFL players to college kids, but not lower expectations. Never do that.

On development he sees and the moment when it triggers for the players.

"It's like fishing — I got the hook in 'em."
