Son in laws birthday

is coming up soon. He is a manufacturing welder and I was looking on Amazon and shirt variances of "Yes, I know I am on fire but let me finish this weld." I remembered 50 some years ago after USAF I was cleaning and repacking bearings on heavy equipment and walked past a co-worker using a gas axe. A berry landed on a solvent wet rag I had in my back pocket and... "Dragon, you are on fire!!!" And I was. I was safely put out with only minor blisters on my and the co-worker's hands, a shirt and about half the long hair I was working on after Government regulations. At the same job while using a gas axe myself a berry dropped inside my beltline. The urgent need to relieve pain by shaking the beltline knowing releasing it will lead to serious damage under the hairline is not a pleasant experience. Thankfully I found a career in electrical construction, a much safer endeavor.

Overcoming adversity and a thank you to RSS

So a while back I made a post about giving up. The response from the people around me to include RSS was honestly just overwhelming. I have recently been able to get my life back to a meaningful purpose and have confidence in myself. I really want to say thank you to those who reached out to me and gave me some real support.

On the good news front I was able to buy a house and my sorry self is going to be getting married on the fall. I know buying a house is not a big deal to some people but to me it is. I didn't have the joy of living in a house until I was 19 years old. Didn't have a bed until I was 12. So I honestly didn't think it would ever happen. Very crappy feeling as I couldn't understand wtf I was doing wrong. The truth was, I wasn't. I just didn't understand the right way to do it. Getting this house is a dream come true for my family and myself!

So let me say thank you one more time as the people here actually made a difference in my life and touched people that don't know anything about this site.

GBR!!!

Wrestling: Nebraska grabs four top two seeds for B1G Championships

The Nebraska wrestling team claimed four top two seeds in the upcoming Big Ten Wrestling Championships this weekend in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The pre-seeds were determined by a vote from conference coaches as they rank the top 14 wrestlers from every weight class. Listed next to each weight class will be the Big Ten allocation for automatic seeds for the NCAA Championships.

125 (9): No. 2 Liam Cronin
133 (9): No. 12 Kyle Burwick
141 (9): No. 3 Brock Hardy
149 (9): No. 11 Dayne Morton
157(10): No. 1 Peyton Robb
165 (8). No. 10 Bubba Wilson
174 (7): No. 2 Mikey Labriola
184 (9): No. 7 Lenny Pinto
197 (9): No. 2 Silas Allred
HWT (9): No. 14 Austin Emerson

Really cool to see Allred all the way up at No. 2 in his redshirt sophomore season. Surprised Lenny Pinto was seeded as No. 7, but he should win a couple of matches in his weight class. I'm going to predict that the Huskers match last year's number of NCAA qualifiers at seven. Cronin, Hardy, Robb, Labriola, Pinto and Allred should all make it in.

I'm thinking one of Burwick, Wilson or Morton will make a surprise run and grab an automatic seed. Of the three, I like Wilson to do that more. As a whole, this Nebraska team was built for the NCAA Tournament. They have four guys who have a legit shot of making the semifinals - including two that are in the top two in their weight classes.

Coming off its best NCAA Tournament in years in 2022, Nebraska has a great shot to eclipse that mark and put together one of its best postseasons in program history.

Baseball Live Thread BSB FINAL: Nebraska 12, Hawaii 3

Nebraska is back at it today as they face Hawaii at 3 p.m. on BTN+ in the second game of the weekend at the Cambria College Classic in Minneapolis, Minnesota inside U.S. Bank Stadium. The Huskers started the weekend off on the right foot, upsetting No. 7 Vanderbilt yesterday thanks to a late home run by Garrett Anglim in the 8th inning while Shay Schanaman continued the bullpen's streak of scoreless innings with three shutout frames of his own. The bullpen has now gone 16.2 innings pitched without giving up a run. Here's the recap from yesterday:

Today, Wichita State transfer Jace Kaminska takes the mound for his third start as a Husker against Arizona transfer Randy Abshier - another lefty. He's 0-0 and owns a 2.45 ERA in 7.1 innings pitched. In case you missed anything or want to get caught up for this weekend, here's the series preview:
