How Much Will Offensive Style Play Into Raiola’s Decision?

There has been significant talk from Coach Matt Rhule and his staff wanting to be dominant and physical at the line of scrimmage. I think most of us get that want that and we all know we need that upgrade. Rhule said he wants to be balanced as well. He wants an improved running game. We need that.

However, when you’re trying to attract and get a top throwing quarterback to commit like Raiola, I don’t think you want to carbon copy Iowa or Wisconsin’s offense. That’s my fear. I think we still need to incorporate a great deal of a sophisticated passing game, not only to contrast many of the styles in the West, but to compete with the East as well. Should Nebraska be closer to USC or Georgia pass run balance.? I’m not worried yet just curious how it’s going to look.

Football Husker DC Tony White is ready to start hearing pads pop

Nebraska defensive cooridnator Tony White made an appearance on Sports Nightly tonight. He's ready for the players to stop running around in shorts and T-shirts and put on pads.

Here are the highlights:

Quick turnaround for Husker Football

When it's all said and done, an autopsy on the 2022 football season reveals that even if we had had an average coaching staff (i.e. like under Solich or Pelini) starting at the end of the 2021 season and the same players, the 2021 team would have likely finished 9-4 or 10-3. It's hard to believe that even average staff would not have made the team good enough to pull out wins against Northwestern, Georgia Southern, Purdue, Wisconsin, and Minnesota last season.

For 2023, the non-conference games would seem to be all cupcakes (even Colorado after Deion Frost figures out what level he's coaching and that you can't win at this level with all WRs). For the conference season, there isn't one team on the schedule that looks like they'll be better than last season and 2 of the teams are trading in good coaches for new coaches who aren't really any better and may be worse. Michigan seems to be the only team on the schedule that is clearly better than we are, even with our obvious deficiencies on the DL and OL.

I'll wait to see the spring game before I make a prediction on our record, but where it stands right now, it sure as hell seems like it'll be better than 4-8.

An ex-neighbor of

40 some years I had not seen for about a year until last night told me...
"Joe": Is anything wrong with Dragon Raider?
No. Not that I know of, why?
"Joe": I drove past his acerage and it has gone to hell. Can't he take care of it anymore?
He sold the place and moved to xxxxxxxx a couple years ago.
"Joe": Well, that explains that. I was worried about him because he always kept that place looking so nice. That was a beautiful acerage, I wish I had known Dragon was selling.

I don't know... that made me and the Mrs Raider feel good. It was my childhood home, my Grandmother's honeymoon house, my Mother's honeymoom house and Mrs Raider's honeymoon house. I miss it especially the Southern view, the quiet, my rifle/pistol range and the old horses that no one wanted anymore that I cared for in their last years of life. They loved me and I loved them.
I do not miss the winters, cutting wood, 1/4 mile lane to clear of snow on an open platform tractor or mowing an acre+ of lawn every two or three days after the rainy season. I moved many of our perenial plants into town including some my Mother and Grandmother had planted. My wife has been invalid for almost 10 years with MS. I am 68 and her primary caretaker, our life is much easier and relaxed. I have no family ghosts haunting me and my employer of 25+ years (the Mrs & I are linked to his network and are his part-time secretary and paymaster) allowed me to clear out a 100 yard range on his acreage with his mini and Cat skidloader. It is really cool, about 30' wide with a tree canopy of shade and mostly wind protected. Shooting clay from a thrower in there is a challenge because you need to be tracked quick or they will escape into the trees and all you will get is a few leaves and a hoot from the man, woman and child that are up next.
