Scholarships

Question as I don't keep up the details of this stuff anymore. A few years back the BIG made a big deal about athletic scholarships being guaranteed for 4 years. I presume with the new 105 Roster Rule and myriad other changes that no longer applies. So most of these "I'm entering the Portal" posts occur because the players' schollies have been pulled?

Thanks in advance.

Why Holgorsen can save Nebraska

Because scoring points is more important than playing good defense if you want to take a leap in wins. That doesn't mean I want a crap defense, but we've struggled on offense the past 5+ years and have nothing to show for it. We allowed less than 20 ppg on defense the past two seasons, but failed to score at least 30 ppg since 2018 - the same year we last had a 1,000 rusher. We have been pretty good at getting athletes on par with the teams in the B10 minus Ohio St and Oregon. We've lacked identity and just need to spin it around the yard with Raiola and the athletes around him. We don't have to run pure air raid but it is time to open it up and get points on the board.

QUIT playing patty cake with teams who want to limit possessions and win close games! We are getting beat by Illinois (L 4/5), Iowa (L 9/10), Minnesota (L 5/6), Wisconsin (L 9/10) for a reason.

2019: 28 ppg (5-7)
2020: 23 ppg (3-5)
2021: 27 ppg (3-9)
2022: 22 ppg (4-8)
2023: 18 ppg (5-7)
2024: 23 ppg (6-6)

Top 10 offenses:
Miami 10-2
Indiana 11-1
Boise St 11-1
Notre Dame 11-1
SMU 11-1
Tulane 9-3
UNLV 10-2
Texas Tech 8-4
Ole Miss 9-3
Tenneseee 10-2
