Volleyball Red-White

Andi Jackson was lifter of the year, and has played international VB since the spring match, so her game has gone next level. she is explosive and plays with confidence. she can dominate when she's fired up. Allick won't give up her role as primary middle blocker without a fight, and Blackwell showed great strength in her blocks and power in her swings. but neither is the athlete that Jackson is. she has also become a great blocker.

Reilly is a great setter, and so is Orr. They each elevated their game this year.

The backrow defensive talent is ridiculous. Rodriguez may become NU's alltime digs leader this year, and if so she'll pass gold medalist Orantes. Throw in Choboy and now freshman Mauch (who had 21 digs to Rodrigez's 15) and teams are going to wonder how they can ever get a ball down.

I'm not sure who Cook will start and rotate at OH. Murray is super smooth, and now has become super crafty; but Krause is back with a bigger cannon than last year,--yet not as powerful as Landfair when she was firing (she was inconsistent). but i would say i felt most comfortable with Pierce's swing, once she got going. so what's a head coach to do? i'm sure Cook will end up playing the most consistent OH, and that includes them playing all rotations--and getting their serves in.

Oh yeh, almost in the shadows tonight was Beason, who looked dynamic, and is still the leader of this team.

It's a rough schedule, but there's a lot of talent to deal with it. And some tough decisions for coach Cook.

Golf Course Recommendations - West Edition

Some friends and I are starting to plan next years annual boys golf trip. Trying to get an early start since so many of us are having kids or have young kids where it's seems like the more notice the better.

We typically are looking at like a Thursday-Sunday trip. 36-72 holes depending on if the location has other sources of entertainment(gambling preferred, breweries, lake day, etc). Probably at least 2 courses if not 3. We've gone about every direction but west, so hoping for some good recommendations in Colorado ish. We stretch from Sioux Falls down to Omaha/Lincoln, so pretty linear in that respect.

TIA!

Another prayers thread

Tarheelhusker ( not to be confused with Tarheelhuskerfan) is a long time Husker fan and my brother. He entered hospice yesterday and will not come home. I got the news an hour ago and am in Juneau on a cruise. Bought a cigar and on the smoke deck with a double Makers Mark thinking of the goofy shit we did as kids. All I ask is that if you get a chance to sip a shot tonight is that you give him a thought. Nothing sad or morose, just a wish for a soft passing. Thanks.

Metallica

To me, it is Zeppelin all the way! Much more variety of sounds, historical influence and musicianship. I am willing to bet Metallica agrees.

Football UPDATED: Fan Day Photo Gallery + new photos of (almost) every player on Huskers' 2024 roster

Went over to Fan Day earlier on Saturday. Added a gallery of all the players I captured photos of there, so we have a new list of all the players on the Huskers' 2024 roster who Tim or I captured photos of this month.

My borderline obsessive goal going into fall camp was to get at least one quality updated photo of every single player on the roster. That's 151 total players. I failed...

But 91 percent ain't bad!

Dayton’s Opening Night….

Weird for someone who I was told by many on here “wouldn’t even start for his high school team this year”. Looks like the game was marred by bad weather. Played the whole game.
