Anyone else besides these obvious ones?
Good one. Maybe Grant Brix gets in the O line mix at some point this year.Keelan Smith would be one of my choices.
Let’s hope so we need some young pup to help on the offensive line some time during the season..Good one. Maybe Grant Brix gets in the O line mix at some point this year.
I actually hope we redshirt him unless needed. I think he is a steal in this class, but also have some depth right now. If needed fine, but set us up for the future. The size of Keona Davis is impressive. Looks like an NFL player already. Him and Shavers are going to be studs.
If he’s good enough to be in the playing rotation, then play him.I actually hope we redshirt him unless needed. I think he is a steal in this class, but also have some depth right now. If needed fine, but set us up for the future.
Like all talented freshmen, lets see what he can do in 4 games and go from there.I actually hope we redshirt him unless needed. I think he is a steal in this class, but also have some depth right now. If needed fine, but set us up for the future.
That underclassmen DL has Van Poppel, VIncent Jackson, Cam, Prince, Wiliams and Keona Davis for starters. Thats a lot of potential. "Potentially", 3 run stoppers and 3 pass rushers. If he’s good enough to be in the playing rotation, then play him.
Brix and/or Pile. But hopefully only for depth. Amare Sanders was mentioned along with some of the other new cornerbacks. I could see him playing on all the special teams and rotating in with the db's.

Dang, he’s gonna draw so many double teams.
Said it before, if Frost was still here Benning would probably be someplace like Wisconsin or Iowa and end up being a 3 year starter while beating us. Keeping good local kids home is so important.Add Caleb Benning to the list.
Ehhhh, I look the same going through a bag of cookies.
Yes play the best we got. The best play plain and simple. We aren’t in a position to sit on talentIf he’s good enough to be in the playing rotation, then play him.

This! Plus with the portal if you have guys good enough you play them. If he's as good as some of the players and coaches have said he is I think he plays. Is there a chance he stays for 5 years??? You never know but the way they are talking about him I doubt it. If he's good enough to be in your 2 deep (not easy this year) I think I play him.
Holla
Just have to make sure and not pull a Dowdwell like Oregon did where you play a guy very sparingly in 5 games. That would piss me off as a parent, mismanaging my kid like that. This! He was 235# and now is 270#, so not big enough to push around any interior linemen. However, that camp in Arizona showed he is big time quick off the ball, has some really good shed movements and has good wheels, so he could create some real havoc in the backfield.I actually hope we redshirt him unless needed. Like others have said, the days of redshirting studs are gone. I'll also add that the days of our studs sticking around until their Sr year (Huskers of the 90s) will hopefully be pretty much done too.I actually hope we redshirt him unless needed. IF he is good enough to play, play him. All I am saying is there is a ton of depth at that position... I have no problem if the coaches play him because he is that talented. Just saying if the other guys are having a great year and he is not needed, let's evaluate like we did WIlliams last year.Like others have said, the days of redshirting studs are gone. I'll also add that the days of our studs sticking around until their Sr year (Huskers of the 90s) will hopefully be pretty much done too.
Yes, it'd be nice if they stick around, but Bama never worried about losing guys to the draft. They had other young studs ready to fill those spots while we've been so worried about building depth forever.
I think we'll get there soon enough (guys going to the NFL after their Jr year). Unfortunately we're about 15 years behind on that compared to other elite programs.

They burned his redshirt in a 49-13 win over ASU. On November 18th. That was incredibly stupid. He wasn't going to show them anything new by that point.I don't agree with this..,he went there to play football right? Can we argue they kept giving him an opportunity to show something and he just failed to do so and nobody is to blame for, anything?
