Nebraska can beat cu if they don't beat themselfs

1. Hang onto the football
2. don't put the defense in bad spots all day by not hanging onto the football
3. we need to get more 3 pointers. most times I watch big 10 football it's about defenses and feild goals playing a big pat of the game...martinez is dandy but lets not get him killed doing too much.

I will review this post after the game to see if these 3 things have been followed..

oh and
4. catch the ball, don't be looking down feild to run OR if your going to get hit..CATCH THE BALL, first thing..
eyes=ball, hands = ball

Article on College QB's - transfers and NIL

Article listing some of the starting college QB's and where they came from. Keeping up with the transfers is a full time job these days. Looks like the going price to get a QB to transfer is $1.5 mil. Not bad work if you can get it. Several take-aways from all of this - how long do schools expect to keep a kid these days and what will it cost them? Is there always going to be someone lurking around the corner with more money trying to pry them away? Tell me where this all ends.

🏈 SAME FACES, NEW PLACES
QB TRANSFERS HAVE TAKEN OVER COLLEGE FOOTBALL

43 of the 68 power conference teams are projected to start transfer QBs this week — a stunning 63% clip that shows how transient college football has become.

And get this: Of those 43 projected starters, 30 are in their first year at their new school.

From Yahoo Sports' Ross Dellenger:

Unusual if not downright rare years ago, such a leap — team rookie to starting QB — is often now the norm when a QB starter at one power conference school moves to another.

In fact, there are first-year transfer starting QBs at many conference champion favorites and expected CFP contenders like Ohio State (Will Howard), Oregon (Dillon Gabriel), Notre Dame (Riley Leonard) and Miami (Cam Ward).

Those four players are believed to be among the highest-paid in college football, each having entered NIL contracts paying them high six figures and even into the seven-figure range. The high rate of QB movement isn't rooted in only playing time — it’s rooted in money.

What they're saying: “If you are trying to get a starting QB with Power Four experience to transfer, you are in the $1.5 million range,” said Russell White, president of The Collective Association (TCA), a group of more than 30 NIL collectives from across the country.

QB musical chairs: Rutgers kicks off Week 1 tonight with a starting QB from Minnesota, which will also start a transfer QB in tonight's opener against UNC, whose starter transferred from Texas A&M.

  • As for the Aggies? They'll kick off the season hosting Notre Dame, who got their QB from Duke, who got their QB from Texas, who got their QB from Ohio State, who got their QB from Kansas State.
  • Two transfer QBs will go head-to-head in Saturday's Canes-Gators showdown. Miami's Cam Ward came from Washington State and Florida's Graham Mertz came from Wisconsin, which replaced him with a transfer from… Miami.
Multi-time transfers… FSU's DJ Uiagalelei (Oregon State, Clemson) and UNC's Max Johnson (Texas A&M, LSU) are among the transfer starting QBs who are on their third school. Then there's Cal QB Chandler Rogers, who's on his fourth (North Texas, UL-Monroe, Southern Miss).

Exes who left Texas… Baylor, Texas and Texas Tech each have three former QBs starting elsewhere, tied for the most of any team. Their exes are spread out, as west as Utah, north to Purdue and south to Virginia.

Should Howard's coach be pissed at Schiano?

Should Howard's HC be mad at Schiano about the end of their game?

  • Howard's HC has a right to be mad

    Votes: 10 16.1%
  • Howard's HC did it to himself

    Votes: 52 83.9%

Howard's coach Larry Scott was pissed at Schiano. He was mad because Rutgers scored on the last play of a 44-7 Rutgers win. There is more to the story though.

Let pick it up here.

Rutgers ahead 38-7, drive down to the Howard 13 with their backup QB and 3rd string RB running the ball.

4th & 1 at the Howard 13, 1:17 on the clock and Howard calls TO

Rutgers goes for it, and don't get it, so Howard's ball on their own 14

Howard sends out their starting offense, complete a 16 yard pass, incomplete pass, sacked by a backup DE and Howard calls another TO with 48 seconds left, complete a pass but short of a 1st down, then an incompletion on 4th down, turning the ball over on downs at the Howard 31 with 15 seconds.

Rutgers runs the ball with their backup RB to the 11 and the RB gets shoved out of bounds with 7 seconds left, Rutgers runs it again and the RB fights for his first career TD and time runs out. Rutgers doesn't kick an extra point. Game over 44-7.

In my opinion, you can't complain about the opponent running up the score if you call TOs to extend the game. He did it to himself, Schiano could have taken a knee, but instead let his backups get game reps. I don't think that Howard's coach has an argument, he did it to himself.

Here is what Schiano said: "Guys practiced all training camp. They deserve to play," Schiano said. "There was no running it up. If it was running it up, you don't use timeouts when you have the ball. You let the game end. That wasn't retaliatory. We were going to run plays. We bring a team in here to play us. We bring them here. We bring them in, we've got to win and we've got to get reps. And they were there, we took them."

Ron Brown – fullbacks and returners!

Fired up about today’s game. Coolest thing ever! Ron Brown listed on huskers.com as full backs and returners coach. “You don’t run out of bounds at Nebraska!“
I went to a Football thing during the Pelini era-Ron Brown was easily the most impressive coach there. It is so cool to have him back in an official capacity coaching-I assume it might be something to do with the new rules about coaches/Consultants?

OFF WISCONSIN!

Fvck the badgers. This is the year their recent luck against us and our stepping on our own dicks ends and we finally beat them.

They just kicked a FG to go up 10-7 over a 4-8 Western Michigan team at the half, and are lucky to be up by 3. Had a targeting call that allowed them to score their first TD when it should have ended their drive in a FG and TVD threw a ball on the last RZ trip that hit the WMU defender in the chest.

This is the year we make our move where Nebraska belongs in the upper echelon and that badger program slides back to where it belongs as a perennial average program.

Colorado Assessment

Just got done watching the whole Colorado/NDSU Game.

1. Colorado really struggled to beat NDSU and frankly, without the ridiculous PI call, NDSU probably would have won, at Colorado.

2. NDSU has a really young team at they still gave Colorado everything they wanted.

3. NDSU has 12 players in the NFL, mainly through exceptional development, but truth be told, you could count on one hand the number of players on their team that we would have even recruited.

There's no excuses this year guys. Colorado has a great player in Hunter, but other than that, they pretty much suck. Their defense is god awful and small. They have no running game. Their OL is still terrible and Sanders was running for his life all night (he's not that fast). Watching the Minnesota/ North Carolina game now and the level of athletic talent overall in that game is stunningly higher than in the Colorado/NDSU game.

With the talent we have on our team now, the resources we have, and the support we have, it's time to start beating teams like Colorado badly. We will see, but Colorado is pathetic. I just hope we're not too.
