He finally achieved a half sack last year to add to his profile. I believe that makes him next year’s odds on Heisman favoriteWell Chief Borders is listed as a defensive lineman on his transfer profile now soooo…. Wasn’t he a safety for us?
If I were them, I would have went after Montana St.'s QB. A real dual-threat and runs a 4.3 - 4.4. He was impressive in the FCS championship.Ridicule Ferentz and Iowa all we want. Their crappy offense has put a few QBs in the NFL. Gronowski is an upgrade for them.
Maybe I’m too safe but I don’t want to shoot for the stars and have the shuttle blow up before it leaves the atmosphere.Agreed. I sure wouldn’t be.
That said, I appreciate there are those with much much higher expectations for that program than I.
Shoot for the stars and you might land on the moon kind of stuff
He might be training using the Warren Sapp protocol. Sapp was a high school QB and I think RB.He might have grown into a DE. Not sure what front Pitt runs.
Now they’ll go to SDSU, USD, UNI or UND and if they prove it there while maybe on scholarship, they might have a chance to get paid to play at NU. Seems like a better deal for them to me. I would bet all of our walk ons could have the opportunity to play elsewhere IF they want. It might be at Wayne State, Kearney or Chadron but they could play. The coaches went after these PWOs and they chose DONU over other options. You can just toss them out and not give a crap, but I think they are being hosed. As I said, this wouldnt have been difficult to say “in four years”, not right away which screws kids who had no idea this would happen when they signed.
Also, you say wont play, but freshmen walk ons never play. Nebraska has had many develop and play, many have excelled. Now we’ll never know.
