Fire Foley.

Running backs coach might be a close second.

I actually don't feel the same about Barthel. I think we have a pretty "average" RB room and he's getting the best outta them. EJ looks better, Rahmir looks better, Dowdell compared to spring Dowdell is night and day. So I really don't feel the same about him.

NOW I will say he needs to recruit at a higher level. No reason in the world we shouldn't be recruiting NFL calibur RBs at Nebraska and he hasn't. I do like the kid coming from Mizzu in current class tho. Maybe he's it.

Is Raiola sick?

We have a problem with receivers not getting open. When we complete a pass it’s from a great DR throw. When opponent completes a pass it’s to a wide open receiver. I still think our 22 year old receiver couch is part of the problem.
Too many of our receivers do not run crisp routes. Frustrating seeing them round every turn and give the db a heads up.

Rutgers gives game away to Nebraska

Too many choke plays to mention.
Dropping an easy TD pass catch on the 5 yard line with no Nebraska defenders near him. Frosh WR Black
An apparent TD by Kyle Monangai in the 3rd Qtr that was ruled down. Not even reviewed ..shame on the B1G . He broke the goal line with the ball.
Horrendous play calling by RU .
Worst performance of the year but still a close game.
Good luck.

Well thank you. We will take it any way we can get it lol. Good luck.

So what. Finally saw NU take advantage of other coaching staffs game call defiencies. I mean one could credit the NU defensive staff for adjustments. When he did run after early in the game he wasn't gashing the defense. Sometimes it's ok to give credit where credit is due.
Yep. White outschemed their OC who then failed to adjust to keep their best player involved in the game.

We have been on the other side of that many times.

Coaching matters immensely.

Indiana hasn’t scored less than 31* points in a game this season

I’m not saying they aren’t good but I’m definitely not impressed with their points average at this point given their competition. Also, if I recall correctly their schedule sets up nicely for a nice end of season record.

It will be a tough game I have no doubt because everyone is a tough out for us, but they haven’t seen a defense like ours. Hopefully our special teams doesn’t handicap us and we have figure out how to score in both halves.

I would be impressed if they score more than 24.

I would be shocked if they DIDNT get to 24. Indiana is a good team. I know their schedule hasn't been a gauntlet but you play who you play. For the most part they kicked the shit outta those guys. As we struggled to a 7-3 lead heading into the fourth quarter of Purdue you learn to appreciate a team that doesn't play with its food.

I'm very interested in watching how well we do against them. Hoping we can carry the pass rush into that game. I'm actually seeing a rather high scoring game.

Interesting, maybe sobering stats

In the six games we have played so far, we have scored 30 total points in one half (average 5ppg) and 138 total points in the other (average 23ppg). To look at it another way we've scored 30 points in 12 quarters and the other 12 quarters we've scored 138 points. Here's the break down

vs UTEP 30 points first half..10 points second half
vs CU 28 points first half..0 points second half
vs UNI 21 points first half..13 points second half
vs Illinois 17 points first half..7 points second half
vs Purdue 0 points first half..28 points second half
vs Rutgers 14 points first half..0 points second half

In three of our games we have gone scoreless in three halves (CU, Purdue, Rutgers) and scored a lone TD in one (Illinois). The two game we scored more than once in both halves were against juggernauts UTEP (10) and Northern Iowa (13).

Summation: We need to fix some things and figure out how to put 4 quarters together. If we can I see us 8-4 and maybe 9-3. If we can't we may have to scratch and claw to be 6-6.

Unless their starting running back got hurt early in the game, Schiano and his staff shit the bed yesterday.

Rutgers going away from the run after torching us on the ground in the first quarter was a huge contributing factor in their loss.

They stopped giving their best player touches, and were instead relying on their statue QB -- who is very, very average -- to win the game.
They had three drives with decent production, then two things happened. NU started playing with two Jacks and also scored to go up 14-0. Rutgers was looking at grinding away for less yardage per play for a half and hoping NU would start shitting the bed on run D. They had decent field position for much of the second half, but couldn’t get enough rhythm to consistently move the ball. The fact that they were generally getting stoned when they did run, it did not help them in the pass game at all.
