Multiple boosters of substance told me LAST year that Satterfield wasn't his first choice. I haven't asked who was nor do I care now that Holgerson is calling plays.
Seems like Rhule is very hesitant to give DH any credit. Was a little disappointed at what I heard at the press conference. Clearly play calling has made a significant difference.
It's not just the players as Rhule continues to say. Maybe he is just trying to be the "nice" guy to his buddy but it'd be okay to credit and complement DH with a good offensive game plan and call.
If it were me, as I said before, give DH full control (recruiting, personnel etc..), make him an Associate Head Coach today and do whatever is necessary to keep DH here. DR and everyone else on offense has benefited and it's only been 2 weeks.

Notre Dame probably still gets into the 4-Team Playoff this year, undeservedly. Mostly by not having to play a conference championship game. At least this year, it will be settled on the field, rather than debating if they should get in ahead of Miami or Penn State.
Personally, I'd rather do away with conference championship games and have a 16-team playoff. Take the Top 16 regardless of conference, no automatic bids. First two rounds would be on campus sites. So yes, regular season would still matter because teams would be playing for home-field advantage.
🤣🤣🤣 Threw it 39+ times against “tougher” Fickell team. Best offense in 2 years and best performance against this Wisconsin D all year, made them look stupid and definitely put Fickell on a warmer seat.

We beat down a one dimesional Iowa offense and won't be very hard movin the ball on their D. I said right before the game yesterday that our last 2 opponents are HATED rivals like Colorado and the game yesterday I said we would come out and play like we did against Colorado and look what happened. Same thing is gonna happen to Iowa! Now those chains that have held us down for 8 years are gone and now they can play free without that weight on their shoulders and all hell is gonna brerak loose! Holy cow look at the O yesterday and that was week 3 of Holherson and his 2nd game called. Wonder what the improvement's gonna be in Holgerson's game 3? If it looks better than yesterday, there's a beatdown a comin to the Chokeyes! The O beat down a very good Wisconsin D yesrterday. Iowa is a one dimensional offense playing with their 4th string QB and KJ won't even reach 100 yards rushing. At leat Wisconsin had a passing game to mix things up and they only finished with 108 rushing! Iowa's OL is weak sauce and the Blackshirt DL is gonna wreck that one too!
For comparisons sake, Iowa had 422 yards of offense on 64 plays against Wisconsin. Nebraska 478 on 72. I wouldn’t classify Wisconsin as a very good defense.
Iowa is also averaging over 40 PPG at home in conference play averaging 118 passing yards per game. Being one dimensional hasn’t been an issue at home this year.
Huh? I said they had some good teams in that 25-year stretch of coach flipping but ask any Alabama fan to list their favorite coach during that lengthy span. Most of them probably couldn’t name one.
And of course that infamous seven-year streak of ours only exists because our 2020 “warriors” chose to turn down a bowl invite. They were tired.
I never publicly predicted anything in the preseason, but fully prepared for another 5-win year, dared to get my hopes up a little when they slapped Colorado around, then feared it was another 0-for-November coming until the clock hit zeroes yesterday. So by my cynically low standard, I consider this season a success already 🤷🏻♂️
None of those games would have mattered if there was still a 4-team playoff either.
Though I don't like how Notre Dame will probably be able to get into the playoffs most years by getting to control their entire schedule and not having to play a conference championship game. Their schedule is an absolute joke this year. I hope USC finds a way to beat them next week.
