REPORT: Michigan presents $5 million NIL offer to 5-star QB Bryce Underwood

So it’s just pay to play that the stupid NCAA says is against the rules.

No, not really. Kids get the money whether they play or not. Jeff Simms got benched and only played in 3-4 games, but he still got his NIL money. It’s not pay for play if you get the money regardless if you play or perform well.

Willis McGahee Jr..

there you go again calling other posters idiots…. 🙄
Reactionary idiots, yes. We just played by far the two best offenses we will play this year. And Gifford didn't look so good in those two games, but neither did most of the rest of the defense.

Against the more methodical offenses we will face the rest of the season, it will play more to Gifford's strengths and I think he's going to shine from here on out.

Your comparing an apple to a orange.. can’t compare the two..
362 Division basketball teams.. There are 133 FBS football teams..
Which makes it almost exactly the same, with regard to ratios. Considering there are 11 playoff spots open for 67 teams - essentially 1 in 6 teams get into the playoff. 1 in 5.3 get into the NCAA tourney.

keep in mind sack yardage lost counts against rushing totals in college, unlike in the NFL
checking in on these with 4 games to go

DR's current stats & pace:

Passing Yards - 1,744, on pace for 2,616 - UNDER pace, but close
Passing TDs - 9, on pace for 14 - pacing way UNDER
Rushing Yards - -58, on pace for -87 - pacing way, way UNDER
Rushing TDs - 0, on pace for 0 - pacing way, way UNDER

Where’s Carter Nelson?

Rhule announced after a couple of games that he was redshirting and that he wasn't fully recovered from his injury. Now he's fully recovered and has practiced. He can see the field this week and still redshirt, and I think that's what we're going to see.
well, Rhule and 100% of the reporting say different.

it appears you have manufactured this fiction and/or your memory of events that took place a mere 8 weeks ago has deteriorated.

from Sept 2nd:

...the presence of senior transfers Jahmal Banks and Isaiah Neyor has limited Nebraska’s reliance on Coleman as an outside wide receiver.

Coleman would be available to play in an emergency situation, Rhule said, especially if the Huskers were to suffer injuries at the position. For now, though, the Lincoln product is headed for a development season.

“We’re kind of taking the pressure off from him for a little bit and letting him go compete,” Rhule said of Coleman.

injury had nothing to do with it.

seriously.. most star players have been opting out of bowl games these last few years.. it's another chance to get injured and there is little to gain from it, unless you're a backup player trying to get noticed.

Also, I suppose the trip to Florida/Texas/California would be nice for a kid from Nebraska, but I doubt it means much to the players who are actually from Florida/Texas/California etc.

Now a playoff means something, and ofc the players want to play in that game, but a bowl game these days is kinda for losers.. (think about it from a championship mindset.. that's where all the losers end up.). And if you're a fan looking at this as your super bowl moment or just something meaningful, then I'm sorry, you really are living in another world.. which ironically is where most Nebraska fans are living these days.
Can’t help the modern day players are more like pussy’s..

Chase Loftin..

It seems like we've had quite a few TEs that haven't panned out over the last decade or so. It was the less-recruited guys like Stoll and Allen that did well, but highly-recruited guys like Rollins, Hickman, Rafdal, Carnie, etc. didn't do much. Fidone has had injuries....hopefully Carter Nelson doesn't become another one that disappears.

According to Rivals, all those guys were either 5.6 or 5.7 3-stars. Fidone was the only highly-ranked TE we have landed recently, that is actually playing TE. Jurgens was highly rated but played OL and Nelson was too, but is playing WR.
