well, Rhule and 100% of the reporting say different.Rhule announced after a couple of games that he was redshirting and that he wasn't fully recovered from his injury. Now he's fully recovered and has practiced. He can see the field this week and still redshirt, and I think that's what we're going to see.
Can’t help the modern day players are more like pussy’s..seriously.. most star players have been opting out of bowl games these last few years.. it's another chance to get injured and there is little to gain from it, unless you're a backup player trying to get noticed.
Also, I suppose the trip to Florida/Texas/California would be nice for a kid from Nebraska, but I doubt it means much to the players who are actually from Florida/Texas/California etc.
Now a playoff means something, and ofc the players want to play in that game, but a bowl game these days is kinda for losers.. (think about it from a championship mindset.. that's where all the losers end up.). And if you're a fan looking at this as your super bowl moment or just something meaningful, then I'm sorry, you really are living in another world.. which ironically is where most Nebraska fans are living these days.
It seems like we've had quite a few TEs that haven't panned out over the last decade or so. It was the less-recruited guys like Stoll and Allen that did well, but highly-recruited guys like Rollins, Hickman, Rafdal, Carnie, etc. didn't do much. Fidone has had injuries....hopefully Carter Nelson doesn't become another one that disappears.
Your comparing an apple to a orange.. can’t compare the two..The playoff is “the show” - the rest of the bowls are similar to NIT tourney. We have to at least make the NIT!!!
You forgot Chris septic I know I butchered his last nameIt seems like we've had quite a few TEs that haven't panned out over the last decade or so. He learned from bama and studying Michigan. That explains a lot about how they anticipated our plays both on offense and defenseI didn't read any of the links, too lazy, but my gawd it all makes sense now! Obviously Cignetti is a cheater, you can tell just by looking at the evil bastard.
I know he hasn’t played a lot in recent games, but he’s played plenty. What makes you think he will disappear like those other guys you mentioned? He’s already played more as a true freshman than all of those guys combined in their careers. It seems like we've had quite a few TEs that haven't panned out over the last decade or so. Okay so speaking of the TE position. What is the deal with AJ Rollins, I remember watching this kid in HS, particularly on the basketball court, and really thought he had the tools to be a special TE.
Also it still kind of stings not getting the kid from Pierce last year. He has already played a pretty big roll for Iowa State in his season and a half.
Seems so. Decent speed for a LB. Not for a safety.Giff’s football future, should he make one for himself, is at OLB
Ok. I never saw that.Rhule announced the intention to redshirt Coleman before the season even started, right?
Said he needs to develop physically or something of the sort?
I don’t think injury has anything to do with it.
So it’s just pay to play that the stupid NCAA says is against the rules.I think if your NIL deal is through a “collective” there’s little responsibility on the athletes part cause the money comes from so many different sources. I think each contract stands on it’s own, as in, if a singular company donates a large amount to a collective with the understanding that this money is for a specific player or sub-set of players that are required to advertise for said company. Then yes, I suppose there would be some contractual obligations to advertise for said company. But in that sort of situation, why wouldn’t that company ink the NIL deal privately instead of going through a collective? In the end, the NIL money from a “collective” comes from a wide ranging and diverse pool. Private donations from fans and boosters, private companies and/or anyone who wants to support these athletes. In many cases there really isn’t any one specific company or organization for these kids to advertise for, except the collective it’s self.
No idea. It just seems to make sense since our receiver play has been so bad. I can't think of any other reason to not give him a shot.I get it, I am just not sure Coleman's injury was one that required him to be out this long during the season. By most accounts, he was practicing all summer and even through camp. IF they were worried about a nagging injury why would they allow that to occur?

This is a good analogy and exactly what I’m sayingThe playoff is “the show” - the rest of the bowls are similar to NIT tourney. We have to at least make the NIT!!!
Not even in my mind. I think it’s a milestone that needs to be reached.
Dec bowl games are just universally more meaningless now that the playoff has expanded
