The Offense: 2023 vs 2024

Haarberg started 8 games for us last year, but really only played 7 since he went out so early against Maryland.
DR has started 8 games for us this year.

here's how they and the offenses compare:

HH - 49% completions, 1,444 total yards, 11 total TDs, 6 INTs (7 games)
DR - 66.1% completions, 1,686 total yards, 9 total TDs, 7 INTs (8 games)

the offense is averaging 24ppg compared to 22ppg last year during HH's starts
the offense is averaging 358ypg compared to 317ypg last year during HH's starts

pretty similar numbers. by far the biggest improvement is in fumbles lost, but that really hasn't translated to more points.

W/L record is the same.

I was pretty surprised to see how similar our production has been this year compared to last year's ragtag bunch.

at this point, DR will need to pick up his TD passing pace in order to simply match the 16 scores we threw for last season.

Looks like he will hit the under on my INT per game prediction but I didn’t expect him to abandon throwing deep 50/50 balls like he has. I had him at 1.6 per game. He did his best against IU to try to make me look good.

I know that you are being Randy Quaid in Major League 2, but you are absolutely NUTS if you think Raiola is going to throw less than 20.5 TD's. Only way that happens is if he gets injured. If what we saw was 16 TD's last year, and Raiola throws only 4 more Rhule will be looking for another job.

So I know you don't want to be a Kool Aid drinking sunshine pumper, but I also think you sound idiotic thinking Raiola is going to have similar numbers to last year

REPORT: Michigan presents $5 million NIL offer to 5-star QB Bryce Underwood

So it’s just pay to play that the stupid NCAA says is against the rules.

No, not really. Kids get the money whether they play or not. Jeff Simms got benched and only played in 3-4 games, but he still got his NIL money. It’s not pay for play if you get the money regardless if you play or perform well.

Willis McGahee Jr..

there you go again calling other posters idiots…. 🙄
Reactionary idiots, yes. We just played by far the two best offenses we will play this year. And Gifford didn't look so good in those two games, but neither did most of the rest of the defense.

Against the more methodical offenses we will face the rest of the season, it will play more to Gifford's strengths and I think he's going to shine from here on out.

SIAP....The 1000 pound Gorilla in the room...

Your comparing an apple to a orange.. can’t compare the two..
362 Division basketball teams.. There are 133 FBS football teams..
Which makes it almost exactly the same, with regard to ratios. Considering there are 11 playoff spots open for 67 teams - essentially 1 in 6 teams get into the playoff. 1 in 5.3 get into the NCAA tourney.

all regular season over/unders:

Passing Yards - 2669.5
Passing TDs - 20.5
Rushing Yards - 199.5
Rushing TDs - 5.5

keep in mind sack yardage lost counts against rushing totals in college, unlike in the NFL
checking in on these with 4 games to go

DR's current stats & pace:

Passing Yards - 1,744, on pace for 2,616 - UNDER pace, but close
Passing TDs - 9, on pace for 14 - pacing way UNDER
Rushing Yards - -58, on pace for -87 - pacing way, way UNDER
Rushing TDs - 0, on pace for 0 - pacing way, way UNDER

Where’s Carter Nelson?

Rhule announced after a couple of games that he was redshirting and that he wasn't fully recovered from his injury. Now he's fully recovered and has practiced. He can see the field this week and still redshirt, and I think that's what we're going to see.
well, Rhule and 100% of the reporting say different.

it appears you have manufactured this fiction and/or your memory of events that took place a mere 8 weeks ago has deteriorated.

from Sept 2nd:

...the presence of senior transfers Jahmal Banks and Isaiah Neyor has limited Nebraska’s reliance on Coleman as an outside wide receiver.

Coleman would be available to play in an emergency situation, Rhule said, especially if the Huskers were to suffer injuries at the position. For now, though, the Lincoln product is headed for a development season.

“We’re kind of taking the pressure off from him for a little bit and letting him go compete,” Rhule said of Coleman.

injury had nothing to do with it.
