Williams suspended

It is the job of the legal system, not employers, to protect society from people who break the law. To that end, a whole system has been put in place to properly punish such offenders. But now we see once again, in your post, this new extra-legal punishment that you think society must impose on law breakers: they must also lose their jobs. Even though the law does not mandate this, and even though the individuals in question will face punishment requisite to the crime in our legal system, according to you, "doing the right thing", means we must take further punitive actions into our own collective hands, and fire these people from their jobs.
Personally, I find this vindictive, arbitrary, and self-righteous. I also think it is counterproductive on a purely pragmatic level.

When in the history of sports has a team said "yeah our most charismatic coach was caught with a DUI for the third time, during a crash, he got off with 2 week no pay, and will miss four games, for something that will get him jail time, and severe driving limitations. We really rallied around him, even though he admits he doesn't have a problem, and continues to make millions...and actually gets to work less for same pay. It was really cool to have him tell me to meet curfew, and to watch out for drugs and alcohol. And to be disciplined and smart. Man I love when that coach tells me to be smart...and to sacrifice for others...and to think about the team. He really inspires me. " There is more to decisions than law. He is a fricken position coach, who can recruit players who have yet to show they are any good. Are we that desperate? We used to lie a cheat to keep All-Americans and Heisman candidates on the field... now we sell ourselves for a position coach who will be gone in 3 years. A WR coach is not ever the difference between 10-2, and 6-6.

I wish I could take away one of your "likes". This feature has to be implemented in the near future. Myopic and intolerant is no way to go through life. I'm glad you see things in black and white. Must be nice to never make a mistake. And before you say it... three mistakes. Ahhh... feels good to be so self-righteous.

Did Williams claim he doesn't have a problem? For real? I never saw Williams say he doesn't have a problem... But I haven't read much either.

No, I'm impressed with your people...

You wouldn't go to many other boards & have people blatantly saying that the guy shouldn't be severely punished or let go, because he's a really good recruiter.

I know Nebraska - dating back to the TO years & prior - has always been accused of putting football ahead of discipline...but I had no idea you guys basically wore that accusation as a badge of honor!

You should stop posting, your ignorance seems to be your calling card.

In the end, he didn't get fired. It is time to get on the bus, or stay home.

If this were an Ohio State coach you would all want him fired.
Hypocrites

I honestly think you have Nebraska fans wrong. Most of us really could care less about Ohio State. Outside of your amateur WR coach that likes to sub tweet we have no reason to really care about what goes on at your school.
