Wife and I said goodbye to our best friend yesterday

I had always been a big dog person until my wife (then girlfriend) and I rescued this little bundle of pure joy 8 years ago, and she converted me in short order. We said goodbye to her yesterday after a number of health complications took away her ability to walk. While society doesn't treat the loss of beloved pets the same as family members, it honestly feels just as bad to me.

That said, if you have a pet, show them a little extra love today in her honor. And please feel free to post a pic of them in this thread. And if you're thinking of getting one, please consider rescuing. There are so many dogs and cats in need of a good home, and they might turn out to be your best friend. RIP, girl.
