What will you do if HH doesn’t start?

I was simply responding to easy’s bipolar episode I somehow triggered two nights in a row

Absolutely insane

Last thing I ever wanted was a thread about Haarberg to turn into something else

I never thought I’d see the day he’d actually start
Just when you think the dust settles, Kong rises up again. Bipolar?

What a clown.

Check that. What a douche.

If you’d like, please read the transcript and tell me what you think

I get that I struck a nerve with you, but I also know you can be unbiased when you want

Also - remember that forgiveness is divine

Don’t stoop to my level, Tim. You’re better than that.

Be interesting what Rhule chooses to do if HH starts the next two games and plays well....Michigan then rolls into Lincoln and Sims is healthy by then.
this is essentially my hope

Haarberg comes in, plays well, the team responds to his leadership and we're 2-2 with a legit QB controversy brewing when mich comes to town

what could be more interesting than that after the 0-2 start we've endured?!

You also spew a lot of B.S. Easy.

You write 10 page essays of B.S. on how you were like 6 degrees from Kevin Bacon's dad's Uncle who played in Super Bowl XXIII or whatever and that some how makes you an expert on the subject of the day.
Couple things. If whatever I post is too long you can always TLDR it.

I also know Ben Watson and Drew Brees who both played in Super Bowls.
You get to know people when you're invited to their 40th birthday parties.

Welcome to my Ignore Hopper.

Are you going to say whatever you said about Amart, about Rhule, Trev or anybody, I think is what easy is asking.

Rhule - “wasn’t even a thought” to take Sims out - It doesn’t sound like Sims is coming out while healthy but I agree, when it’s this bad you try someone else. HH and Purdy must REALLY suck in practice. The only other conclusions would be that Matt Rhule shouldn’t even be coaching peewee, or there is some sort of under-the-table action going on, unrelated to winning that keeps Sims the starting QB.

You can’t really bitch about Trev though, Rhule was a great hire. If he fails as miserably as the last two, then there’s probably something happening on a different realm of existence that none of us can even begin to understand.
I think you may have hit upon the real reason he is still playing . What kind of deal did Rhule make with Sims to get him here?

that's a red flag to me, if true.. why wouldn't you do your own evaluation on position that is so important? That explanation makes Rhule look even worse than he already does.
My guess? If he’s professional at all, is that after the recommendation he vetted him personally as well. People aren’t hired simply because of a reference. They go through an interview process as well.

I doubt very seriously that MR received the recommendation and then offered him the job. There was also a formal interview process as well.

Besides that, didn’t they work together in the past before? Thought I read that here somewhere. If so, MR knew what to expect.

Kind of has that feel to it, doesn't it?

I still want to know why Rhule pursued him in the first place.. that's a red flag in and of itself.

I think Rhule prides himself on being able to develop guys and thought Sims had the right tools to be able to develop him.

That said, there were 15 guys ranked ahead of him in last year's QB portal class. We weren't getting some of those guys no matter what, but you can't tell me we couldn't have had a few of them. Hell, Wisconsin got 2 ranked higher than Sims.

It's early and I'm not gonna' panic, but this whole QB situation is a bit of a head scratcher.

What’s to scratch your head about? Rhule watched all of our game and practice video and decided he needed to bring in a portal QB. He looked at and contacted multiple QBs and Sims was the best he could get. Not many QBs look to transfer to a team with 5 losing seasons in a row, an iffy O line AND a returning starter QB. He got who he could get and CT bailed for his old coach at Texas. There’s zero mystery here.

Just going by rankings, haven't watched the tape and obviously (hopefully) Rhule has, but there were some QBs ranked higher who went to some pretty crappy situations. But, hey, maybe I'm just being a homer and none of those other situations were as crappy or crappier 🤷‍♂️

Some of it is about previous relationships with coaches. Rhule was familiar with and watched Sims prior to taking the NU job. His attention to detail in scouting is well known

One problem most if not all offensive coaches have though is that they see a guy with great raw talent and they think they can fix his flaws. That can be tough to do.

A lot of times, all the good work the coach and QB does in the off season, doesn't transfer to the game action.

Some players get out there, and revert back to all they had previously done.

Gil Brandt talked about that in a radio interview a couple of years ago. I listened to another QB whisperer talk about trying to fix mechanics and accuracy. He said it’s great until they face pressure and the always revert to what feels natural. Josh Allen while still a very good NFL QB is probably a reasonable example of that. He’s kind of what he was in college with a much better supporting cast.
