What’s crazy is if Democrats in congress got their way we would be officially declaring war on Iran. That’s what a congressional approval would be. Forcing the president and cabinet to telegraph their actions and potentially jeopardizing the mission. Simultaneously they would leak any information (true or false) that they think paints the administration poorly which will also jeopardize the mission’s success. When things don’t go smoothly, American soldiers get killed, captured or injured they would blame the president for everything.
You see, they’re mostly mad that this mission was executed so perfectly and they weren’t given the opportunity to screw it up and then blame the president.

They countless attacks on our military bases and funding of terrorism all more than qualify as a national emergency in which the president DOES NOT need congressional approval to execute a military strike.
