Obviously from the wisdom gathered on this board, we need to figure out what kind of offense could even work here in the cold north. Games like tomorrow aren't going to be warm enough for every offense.

I believe if you have a coach who teaches well, recruits to his system and gets guys motivated to play, the following offenses would probably be very successful here and I believe in today's modern age of football these offenses could definitely work here:

1) Option
2) Spread
3) Pistol
4) West Coast
5) Run & Shoot
6) Fun & Gun
7) Power I
8) Wishbone
9) Pro-style
10) Air Coryell

I'm sure there's more, any others you can think of?

Bottom line, being successful is much less about scheme and much more about execution and getting players to play at a high level. I don't buy that one offense allows you to take mediocre 3-stars and put up 50 a game in the B1G. I don't buy that one offense requires less talented players or less 'perfection' to operate.

To me it's all about getting players to execute, getting them motivated and recruiting high level athletes with the right skillset for your system.

GBR, beat Iowa!
