He wasn't comparing FB and VB teams? Then why did he put the post in a VB thread? There may be fans who will be "pessimistic no matter how successful a team is," but fans who are still pessimistic about the FB team aren't unreasonable at this point, because the FB team hasn't played a top team yet. But the VB team has. So attacking the pessimistic football fans by saying "oh, they're just like someone who would say this VB team shouldn't be in the top 10, aren't they absurd?!" doesn't work.

Kaz wasn't being disparaging to the volleyball team, he was pointing out that there are people on this very board that are telling us we shouldn't be top 10 at all in football... But how do they know this for sure? We've beaten everybody we've faced...

Just take it easy... The funny thing about jokes is they don't have to follow the lines of logic to be funny. And I think it's time to take away your privileges to determine what is funny and what is not. You really aren't very good at it.

In response I've been told "it wasn't a comparison", "you don't understand sarcasm", "you don't get it", "you are obtuse or obstinate", "you are trying to be the judge of what is funny", "I would draw you a picture but it's over your head", and maybe I missed a couple of other insults. That's what is so irritating about this board sometimes. Hard to make a comment on anything, even a fairly innocuous one like I made, without risking a barrage of insults.

I knew it was joke from the outset, although I didn't think it worked. I never thought Kaz was disparaging the VB team. I've understood the whole exchange all along. You didn't understand way back up the line when you suggested that I didn't understand that his post was sarcasm, which led to a lot of this argument.
