View of the Nebraska program from an outside perspective

I don't post here often but I do keep tabs on the board from time to time. After the way Scott Frost and Nebraska fought for having a season last year, Nebraska became my 2nd favorite team and I have since pulled for Nebraska when they are not playing Ohio State. The Nebraska fans I've met are also some of the most passionate and knowledgeable football fans I've met.

The reason for my post is simply to say that I understand the frustration you guys are feeling because of the lack of wins that has occurred under Frost, but I also think Nebraska is right on the edge of being a very solid team that can start winning meaningful games. Nebraska has lost some very close games this year that quite frankly, they should have won. Nebraska football is a good QB away from competing for the B1G West title. Martinez is a great person but he is a freaking turnover machine that has cost Nebraska several wins this year and over the past few years. The one fault that hangs like an anchor around Frost's neck is turning down Joe Burrow when he was looking to transfer.

I still think Frost is a good coach and if he can get a good QB, the Nebraska program will turn the corner. I know a lot of people are calling for Frost to be fired this year, but I think give him next year to see if he can get a good QB to lead this team. If he can't, then no one can say he wasn't given every chance. I am anticipating a close game Saturday provided Nebraska takes care of the ball. If Martinez doesn't turn over the ball, I can see a game that is very close in the 4th and it's not out of the realm of possibilities for Nebraska to ruin Ohio State's season, although I hope not!😄

Anyway, here's hoping Nebraska plays a good game and there are no injuries. Yeah, I'm pulling for my Buckeyes to win, but come next week I'll be pulling again for Nebraska.

For perspective…
A Senior rb from my school in Dallas just received offers from Cal, Auburn and Mich. St. this week. Nebraska is looking at him. It's pretty embarrassing what these high school kids think about Nebraska. They laugh when I mention Nebraska

He had plenty of chances to get a good qb like you mentioned Burrow. He didn’t do it. We have lost plenty of games early in his tenure where we needed to run instead of pass, defend a 3rd string qb from going 85 yards in 2 minutes, have a kickoff team, punt the ball to the correct side, understand clock management. Adrian just isn’t a winner and Frost says he wants guys who grind out wins, but nothing changes. Next year we will be oh so close to 7-5 with a moral victory.
But we can recruit better than anyone in the west. Our standards have never been this low until Moos and Frost made them that low.

I'm 54 so I remember Tom Osborne and the dominance Nebraska had in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. I get the younger kids not knowing that tradition, but it doesn't take much to show them the NC trophies and the support that Nebraska gets from the entire state. Kids want to play where there is genuine love for the team and Nebraska has that in spades. That is something a lot of teams don't have.

I can't argue with anything you said. Like I said, I just think you guys are right on the cusp of turning the corner. Whatever happens, I just hope we can see Nebraska get back to being really good. College football is better when the traditional powers are good. Hopefully, the CFP will expand so more teams can get into the playoff.

If he does get the year, he has tell Martinez to move on because he would be eligible to play. 4 years is more than enough.

We will know by 1 o clock where our program is. We saw a team quit on Riley.in 2017. It’s better now but tomorrow will determine whether frost gets pushed over the edge or can claw and scratch a little. If he beats Ohio State it could change a lot.

Kids want to win
They care not about close losses, 90’s dominance or sellout streaks
