Amid all the doom and gloom on this board (and I admit, I am one of the doom and gloomers right now) there are still 3 games left. We can still make a bowl. USC next week is a winnable game if our defense plays like it did against OSU or CU.

Rhule has an opportunity here to stick it to his critics and shut them up. He has an opportunity to show that “here we go again” Nebraska is a thing of the past. He can show the world that he is not just one more failed Nebraska coach.
He can go to LA and beat USC. How sweet would a victory over the Trojans be right now? It might even give us the momentum to win our last two games as well.

Will we? Personally, I think the program is in internal chaos right now. It can’t be in a good place. Lost 3 in a row. Brought in outside analysts to look over the shoulders of our coordinators which cannot sit well with them no matter what they say publicly. Bringing in analysts is a tacit vote of no confidence or, at the very least, a public relations gesture meant to make the coach look good at the expense of his assistants. Or worst of all, it signals to his assistants (especially Satt) that Rhule is slowly moving into place the factors needed to eventually fire him. None of which signals a healthy program.

None of this is lost on the players either. They too read social media. They understand football. They know what is going down. Player morale cannot be very high right now. All the vibe is negative. All the talk is negative. That hurts morale and I don’t care what the sunshine pumpers say.

There is only one way to flip this script. WIN. And we can start with USC. Will we? I doubt it. But who knows? And winning would be huge for this program right now. Nebraska football cannot afford yet another 5-7 season. Rhule needs to put up or shut up.

I was hoping they would stick with moss, usc fan been complaining bout the oline..and moss is not mobile...
this new qb is probably more mobile but not sure about his arm..moss has a arm

thats what I hoped our dline could get to their qb...their run game is good but like satterfeild Riley leaves the run game as soon as he can.
maybe our offense can click enough to get 20 points, their defense has improved since grinch left

We're not a very good team on the road, so there's that. USC has a good passing attack, and our weakest link on defense is our secondary. Add to the fact they play much better at home. Our coaches have consistently been out-coached - all of which leads to a likely defeat in my opinion. I hope for another W in the 3 games that are left, but I don't see one.

The last time we played coming off a bye, we got beat by 49. So...yeah...there's that, too

While I have some hope we can win another game or two this season, the feeling is similar to this...

USC loses when they get punched in the mouth.

Unfortunately we do too.

Deal the first body blows and this is our game.

If Hartzog and Hill can play, the secondary should be respectable.

More interested in whatever offensive changes are made. I have no idea what Holgerson can really do in two weeks time.
It’s really a lose / lose for Satt. If we have a good showing he looks like an idiot because Holgerson will get the credit. If it is unchanged it’s because Holgerson hasn’t had enough time.

No doom and gloom. Facts vs Feelings, which is a major problem with today society as a whole. We know we suck and underperform, and we won't except or support it. People need to be held accountable and changes need to be made . Period, give weak ass MF's a helmet and a support pillow . I'm tired of this soy boy shit. Man the F up or get gone.

So there's that

Before anyone starts bashing and blasting Butler and the secondaries woes this year, think about this, the DBs are having to acclimate to a new coach with a different teaching and coaching style vastly different than Cooper's who resigned outta nowhere back in July and then in comes Butler the 1st part of August and only had 25 days or so to get that secondary ready for the 1st game. Had Butler been here during the winter conditioning and Spring Game this year, people would've seen far better results now. Butler is another elephant in the room and we have to do everything we can to keep him! Don't think for one minute when Butler got hired on here, it didn't get the immediate and undivided attention of the powerhouses of P4 who I guarantee are frothing at the bit to get their hands on a DB coach who's secondaries dominated and were the top in the NFL all 6 years he was with the Bills and with the ability to produce a top secondary 2nd to none in all of P4 whether it be us, or another team. People need to have patience with this as things will get way better. He was also brought in to take over DC whenever White decides to leave which I don't think will be this off season and I for one like White. This is a sizeable elephant in the room besides Satterfield's demise and Holgerson's arrival. How would Husker Nation feel if he were to jump ship and stay in the conference, say going over to tOSU, Oregon or Michigan? People should keep this in mind imo. Butler left the NFL as the top guy at his coaching position to come here.

This is absolute truth @king kong

That just shows what kinda never expert you are and am LMFAO at ya big time. Take a lap.

True, we aren’t great on the road but at least USC fans will probably dump tickets cheap or sit on their hands given how bad their season has gone. And how fired up could their team be to play us?

I agree that we figure to lose all three games. The Preacher needs a new sermon. At this point he’s just a more personable version of Frost. Both guys got big reputations in short stints at smaller programs but seem to have no clue how to win here. Bringing in two big name coaches with three games left to”consult” suggests Rhule has no answers and is in panic mode. He should be. We suck.

ran this through an AI summarizer and it's still a yapfest

Before criticizing Butler and the struggling secondaries, consider the challenges they've faced. The DBs had to adjust to a new coach with a different coaching style, unlike the previous coach who left abruptly. Butler only had 25 days to prepare the secondary for the first game, which would have been better if he had been there during winter conditioning and the Spring Game. Powerhouses are eyeing Butler for his success with secondaries in the NFL. People should be patient as things will improve. Butler is also set to take over as DC later on. If he were to leave for a conference rival like tOSU, Oregon, or Michigan, it would impact the team. Butler chose to leave the top NFL position to join the team, which is significant. King kong's criticism lacks understanding.

Exactly. You have a job to do and are paid well to do it… and Rhule is the one it ultimately falls on, but he can’t be fired just yet.
I mean, strip it to its most basic.. if Rhule had signed a 2 or 3 year deal to start.. do you think he’d be here next year? I bet not.
But it is what it is, and if we lose 6 in a row to end the year and miss a bowl there needs to be like 5 people fired at minimum.

Nearing the end of year two, I can see Rhule is way over his head.
With a stroke of luck he can bring in guys that make up for his suck ass coaching.

The problem is, we are a very bi-polar team and don't know what team we're gonna get from game to game! Point in example tOSU game was one we shoulda won as that game was ours and the Blackshirts absolutely mauled and humiliated their vaunted RPO offense holding it season lows in almost every offensive catagory. I think our problem is, this team doesn't know how to come back from losses like that and win. Team gets down on itself and shit's the bed the following week. One of our BIGGEST problems is we don't know how to win as most of our problems is all mental and haven't been able to remove that block. The is not a talent issue, as we have plenty of it. Where's Jack Stark when you need him?

that doesn't prove anything, you babbling bitch 🤣
That's from the NFL JV board boy. You are a master shit thrower and woke snowflake dumbass! You've just proven that even the intellectually Disabled aka The Metally Retarded are far more intelligent than you'll ever be LMFAO!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Teach someone how to properly come up with a game plan play calling. Can't change the offense but maybe orchestrate it better
I think the running game could be easily fixed with more commitment to it. The passing game not so much, too many long developing plays with little to no motion to either read coverages or put receivers in favorable situations. Hopefully Holgerson can help with the later.
