Unbeaten: The Brook Berringer Story

Watched the replay of the Oregon game following this in condensed version on "Nebraska Classics". Watching the line play of both teams was interesting. When blocking upfield, both teams had success. When protect blocking, Oregon had the advantage. TA and zone read rb's were in trouble but Oregon QB Prukop mostly managed to scramble for the first down.
Except for when it mattered on the last series.

I watched the game also. I had forgotten how close that game was. I remembered it as NU more or less putting it away in the 4th Q, but watching again we were damn lucky to win and it went to the wire. We were lucky they did the boneheaded two-point thing four times and we were lucky they were flagged 13 times for 126.

It was actually a pretty good offensive game plan IMHO. We threw 35 times and ran 47 times. Ziggy was hot and they fed him the ball. Unfortunately, TA was 50% - 14 for 34. He did have some good runs at crucial times. We will miss that this year, but then, if Lee's percentage is in the high 60s or even 70s, those types of runs may not be so necessary.

The defense was porous. They ran for 336 yards for 7.1 yards per rush and gained 482 yards total. Particularly egregious was OU passing for 33 on a 3rd and 35, then converting on 4th down, and the other time when they got Wilbon's fumble on a swing pass behind him in the red zone, then went around 60 yards on two plays to score. If we would have scored there, we may have been able to take control of the game.

My take on rewatching is we seemed to have more of an identity in the beginning of the season as far as play action off power runs with TA runs sprinkled in, whereas later in the season it was hard to tell what our identity was. That could have been the wounded/patchwork line took the power run out of the equation.
