Do you guys think that Tyjon Lindsey will get snaps at wide receiver next season? I think he will be used some for the jet sweeps and hopefully some reverses. I think he starts on the return teams. Has coach Riley announced how they are going to divide up special teams? I can see Diaco Donte Williams Keith Williams and coach Bray being involved

With the number of scholarship WR on the roster, we may need all of the incoming freshmen WR to play.

If he doesn't play, there is a serious problem.

Hard to predict how freshman will adjust to being in college, moving away from home, etc. But with that said, not only do I think he plays, he could very well start.

The skill set of speed in which he brings lots of it to the table, I believe he plays next year unless he has some type of injury.

How easy is it to learn the system? I know that he is a perfect fit for the type of screens Riley likes to run. I would hope that the west coast offense and it's read option routes don't keep him off the field. If Tyjon zigs when he's really supposed to zag, that could mean that a lesser talented player sees more time.

I think it depends on 2 things, probably more than that but my 2 would be: how he comes back from his knee injury and JD Spielman(sp?). They have similar build and skills from what I understand, so would be competing for the same position on the field. Correct?

WRs come in and out of games consistently to keep fresh, unlike the OL. Whether he starts or not, he will play in every game unless he is injured. If any WR red-shirts, it won't be him unless he gets injured.

Will there be a learning curve? Probably. But that doesn't mean that he won't play. Look how quickly Stanley Morgan played his true freshman year (albeit partially out of necessity due to injuries). They will have him in on plays that he knows and excels at and if he is open, POB or TLee will get the ball to him.

We will have 3 or 4 WRs on the field every play and probably 11 WRs seeing the majority of the snaps (8 scholarship and 3 walk-ons).

If we are winning in the 4th quarter by a comfortable margin (hey, it could happen!), you can bet the backup WRs will be getting some of the snaps.

I just hope that with 18 WRs on the roster this year, that they won't overdo it anymore in Fall Camp and pull so many hamstrings.

I was stunned by his talent in a few films I watched. Really, cutting in front of someone at full speed to get open and catching the ball while at a 45 degree angle and finishing the cut at full speed upfield.

I was lucky to do a game of his at Centennial and left the field amazed at his speed, quickness and skills.

Wide receivers for spring ball:

Stanly Morgan Jr scholarship
De'Mornay Pierson-El scholarship
Bryan Reimers walk on
Gabe Rahn walk on
JD Spielman scholarship
Keyshawn Johnson Jr scholarship
Javevon McQuitty scholarship

He will be the most laterally explosive player at Nebraska before he even steps onto the field. Only guy coming close in recent memory is Ameer. If Tyjon can match just half of Ameer's output, we will be in good shape.

I'm interested who is faster over 40 yards: Tyjon Lindsey or Elijah Blades. Blades looks like he has another gear.

On punt returns I wou love to see tyjon and person el fielding punts the punters would have to choose to kick it to one of them or kick it out of bounds

Love to see it. Just hope we can give theme some space so they can run after they get the ball. Got old seeing are return guys surrounded b4 the ball even got there.

As others have said already, all the incoming WR's should see snaps this fall. I expect TL to be starting by conference play. He's going to be a fun one to watch the next few years.

There is nothing great about any of the WRS we have now. I hope all 3 freshmen get to play.

Unless injured and I didn't hear about it:
Keyan Williams scholarship
Zack Darlington scholarship
Conor Young walk on (he took the injured Reimers' spot on the travel roster for the Iowa game and dinglefritz said he is well ahead of a scholarship WR)

Id be completely suprised if he didnt play significant snaps. In fact id be shocked if my mid season he wasnt getting starters minutes at WR. hes THAT good if you ask me. We need an explosive guy in the worse way...he IS that.

holla

The fact that Tyjon won WR MVP at the Rivals 5-star challenge (as a 4-star) tells me all I need to know about how insanely talented he is. He'll be an instant contributor

Assuming nobody gets hurt, I expect this to be the WR Depth Chart in 2017:

Z- Demornay Pierson - El
Z - Jaevon McQuitty

X- Stanley Morgan, Jr
X - Bryan Reimers

R- JD Spielman
Or
R- Tyjion Lindsey

I also anticipate Lindsey see some snaps out on the boundary, and KJJ may see some time inside at the slot. KJJ actually has a similar skill set to Jordan Westerkamp.

TE - David Englehaupt
TE - Tyler Hoppes

Stoll is a Wildcard because of his knee surgery last August. This Spring will be the first time he actually practices. He's kind of an unknown in the equation. But IMO, he's a Mike McNeil type pass catcher.

Snyder can really run. He has great hands and a wide catch radius, but the coaches aren't really impressed with his aggressiveness or desire to play physical.

I've heard Snyder is the strongest TE on the team.

You ever heard the term, "look like Tarzan, play like Jane?"

He really looks good running down the field, but he needs to overhaul his mentality and willingness to hurt someone.
