Trev it is...

This rumor stuff imo is just that. Beings how the buy/sell thing seems to be all the rage these days I'm selling

I know our defense started showing signs of life when alberts started playing.
he did good cutting maverick football, a unnecessary distraction from NU football in the state,
additionally if any decent player were to go to uno now they can head to unl and be of more productive use.

Cutting UNO football was the right idea because it allowed the program to go D-1 and become the only D-1 program in the state that actually owns both their basketball/hockey arena and baseball/softball facilities along with becoming Title IX compliant for the first time in program history.

It had absolutely zero to do with UNO football being an unnecessary distraction from NU football in the state. And, as for those kids going to UNL to help bolster the program, how's that working out? UNL football has largely been a non-factor since 2011...the first year that UNO didn't field a team. If there was all this talent at UNO that could have helped UNL fill out roster depth, it sure hasn't shown in tangible on field success.

In reality, there were talented players that played at UNO as evidenced by guys like Shaq Barrett, Zach Miller, and Greg Zuerlein having success in the NFL...but, that talent hasn't been going to UNL for walk on offers. Those types of guys have been taking scholarships at places like USD, SDSU, NDSU, Northern Colorado, and Northern Iowa.

This was just a bad take on multiple levels. Just signs of they myopic big red sunglasses that so many in this state wear that seems to think that UNL football exists in a vacuum and it's still 1996. The playing field has changed.

Real question is, who was pitching and who was catching?
So suppose Carl Nassib retires and then becomes a great college head coach. Would you want him as Nebraska’s HC? What if he won a National Championship and you had to watch him hoist the trophy after giving his husband a beg wet celebratory kiss?

Proof? Accusations don't equal guilt.
Is there proof on the whole Pelini / hotel basement situation?

If someone had posted that Pelini went on a tirade about Husker fans after the Ohio St game prior to audio coming out should we not have believed it until there was "proof"?

With that being said I 100% see what you're saying and I think it's pretty low to start some pretty serious rumors.

I think that crowd you are referring to is exactly right, but I would add in another bigger reason.. and that is all the turmoil kicked up with last year's defiance to the Big Ten.

We saw an awful lot of middle fingers given to the league from the head coach and implicitly by the prior AD, and the "crowd up top", happen to like their B1G grant monies and don't want to give that up anytime soon.

This hire, and the messaging was very strongly PRO Big Ten.

They are at a minimum, going to put a muzzle on what Scott Frost is allowed to say about the conference etc.
They should put a muzzle on him until he figures out how to think before speaking. I would hope some of his arrogance has ebbed but for the love of God learn to keep your trap shut. It is embarrassing to hear him and look at our record.

Previous behavior can be used to add credence to an allegation. There was plenty of reason to believe that Pelini would do what was alleged. Frost on the other hand to my knowledge hasn't given us any reason to believe any rumors of "illegal touching". JMO. I always take those type of allegations with a grain of salt unless it involves a known repeat offender. (Carl cough cough).

But there was a first time for Carl as well. He didn't get the benefit of the doubt or any grains of salt.

He most certainly did. He slept with the wife of a Cornhusker player when he was a GA. It cost us that guy's cousin who was a future NFL DT. THAT one event that people completely ignore was in FACT one of the problems that led to Frank getting fired. It was also ONE of the reasons Frank told Tom to not hire Bo as the head coach. Even given that, Carl was allowed back on campus as a full time assistant.

and people talked shit about it from the get go. now people are wanting to not talk about Frost's tappin on the strange, because we need to give him the benefit of the doubt.

One alleged indiscretion is not a pattern of bad behavior IF it occurred. There are several related RUMORS none of which have been substantiated.

How anybody in their right mind can defend Carl Pelini is beyond comprehension.
Who the hell is defending Carl Pelini? I am just saying that he was bashed on this board and others for his indiscretions and even some that may not have been true. But for some reason Scott Frost rumors are off limits because there needs to be collaboration and multiple sources. ha ha ha

I'd prerfer our coaches be faithful but I won't lose an ounce of sleep over it if they step out. That's on them, I got my own shit to worry about....just coach up our boys up already and look like a gawd damed football team that knows how to line up and snap the damn ball correctly!!

it's certainly not just one, and it's not just indiscretions with regards to his marriage.

the pattern over the last ~18 months is clear as day. guy's got issues, and nobody close to him is willing to address them. I just hope he gets it straightened out before it becomes a real national black eye.

Maybe that’s why Moos was let go and Trev Alberts was hired?

Trev's comments at Big 10 Media Days made a hell of a first impression on me. His "nobody cares what happened in the 90's" and "stop talking about championships" remarks were spot on. If more of us lived in reality, we would be a lot better off.

Yep. Have to earn it by doing things right, right now.

Following the hire, I have seen several comments regarding palace intrigue and department issues. I know that Moos brought on a couple of Deputy ADs ( Klassy one)... but who is part of the senior leadership team?
