TFraz giving insight to why this Husker squad is 3-1 against Top 25 teams since the Perdue game.

Those are amazing Cliff's notes. Thanks!
No problem!!

Actual cliffs (nothing earth shattering):
•Stadium was packed and his nieces couldn't even get to their seats so they tailgated instead.
•Thinks the team has really bought in & gelled.
•Liked that the penalties from the previous week (12) dropped down to (7).
•Thought Oregon coaching staff made a huge mistake going for 2 instead of kicking the PAT's but is happy they did as it allowed Nebraska to win.
•Was glad to see Armstrong put the team on his back.
•Thought the atmosphere before and during the game was reminiscent of the 90's.
•Excited to see what DPE will do the rest of the year now that he had that big punt return and got confidence back.
•Thinks Mike Riley genuinely cares for the football team and program, and that the players will see that and will want to win, not just to win, but to win for their coach.

Someone set him straight. We all know Riley is a .500 coach and is just here to get a paycheck. o_O

His top 5:
5 Tommy stepped up in the big game
4 Running game-47 runs, 37 pass committed to it
3 DPE- confidence back
2 Cethan Carter, big weapon, versatile, slot, tight run needs more packages
1 Westerclutch- reminds of Jordy Nelson, hands hands hands loves recieving core
1 part II- Defense, MRI and Young,, "where's this been" whole D much improvment

Ok, I'll be upfront.

Literally, just a minute or so before DPE's punt return, I was sitting there thinking that the guy has probably been a net negative on the plays he's been in since the injury. He drops relatively easy catches, he's muffed a couple of punts, and it seems like the exchange on the Jet Sweep has been dropped a couple of times.

Then he had that nice return, and it was all worth it.

But short moral of the story, I hope Tommie is right about his confidence. It would suck if DPE goes back to being the post-injury DPE and only occassionally makes a flash play. It would quite honestly feel like a waste of talent. Bobby Newcomb-ish

We are 3-0 and beat a ranked team with some nice recent success......hence ranking.

Actually, it's .563 at Nebraska, and .538 at Oregon St. for a total of .540 overall since 1997.

.778 in bowl games

There she is!

Not an upper or a downer. Just the facts!

If Rileys overall winning percentage makes you uncomfortable, narrow the window.
HCMR is .1000 in his last 4 games and .875 in his last 8.

I'd take a jr/sr year Newcombe at punt return in heart beat*. No, he wasn't quite as electric, but he did average 18.4 and 14.6 yards per return those years, and 17.3 for his career. Newcombe's legacy is tainted because some of the his off the field quotes and the unreasonably high expectations of him. He had a very solid career at Nebraska.

*(Not over DPE necessarily, but just in general.)
