This is easily the least talented team I have ever seen

I don't think he does. To believe even a little that SE hired Riley because he was a nice guy and that's the only reason is complete garbage.

He might have hired the wrong guy, that's yet to be determined, but to believe that Riley is only in Lincoln because he is nice is just plain stupid. You don't get to where SE is by making decisions like that.

Put Bo in Riley's shoes at OSU and he never sees the light of above 500. Let alone winning a bowl game. I would guess that 95% of Bo's wins came against teams with less talent, at OSU how often do you play a team with lesser talent? Bo would absolutely suck it at OSU because he relied on having more talent than the opposition. On the rare occasions when he actually had to coach he showed how ridiculously bad he truly is. That's how you earn a one way ticket to YSU

Ok, then why the heck did he hire him? Because he's in his 60s but has yet to accomplish "anything" with his coaching career? Face it.....he's not a tiniest pimple on TO's, Devaney's, KSU's Snyder, etc, etc butt.

Also, Bo took over a PATHETIC 5 win NU program that just got totally cremated with Clownahan's last year. Nevertheless he still won 9 or 10 games every one of his seven years here. But "now" there's endless BS excuses for Riley not even winning 9 games. Sickening.

Like firing Solich to bring in Clownahan. Oh god.......

Just like Pedeyshine, our current AD is a moron of the very, very highest order. Again, being a "nice guy" is the only asset Riley has. Period.

I'm trying to enjoy the victory, because I don't think we win many more this year. I also don't think it's appropriate to call any players out specifically, but it's obvious that we have very little speed on defense, and possibly the worst possible scheme for our current personnel.

The issues on offense are less glaring, but I'm certain that we will really struggle to run the ball in the Big 10. Our line gets zero push. We are going to have to play some flawless games to beat anyone with a pulse this year, and to this point we have been ridiculously sloppy in al phases.

I agree. The talent is lacking. The nice comeback against Miami obscured what is a glaring talent deficit. I honestly thought that in some areas we were more on-par with Southern Miss than people want to admit. The great NU teams of the 90s were loaded with NFL talent - something that seems to have been forgotten. On this team you might see Gerry or Collins make a roster, and Freedom will in time be a star. Offensively I'm not sure about Westercamp. Alex Lewis might actually have the skill set if he can bring it all together.

OSU is at a completely different level from NU in terms of talent, and Michigan, etc will only get better. NU was drifting further and further into mediocrity with Pelini and it boggles my mind that so many people still want him as a coach.

Let me ask you this, do you think we will have a single player drafted this year?

Maliek Collins has a good shot as an underclassman. WalterFootball.com has him as a 1st-2nd rounder at this point. they also have Valentine and Alex Lewis as a 5-7th rounder.

Collins is probably their best shot to get someone drafted in the top half of the draft if he declares.

I keep seeing things like this..."we would be worse with Bo". That is ridiculous to me. Riley is a .500 coach that has had losing seasons 3 of the past 5 years and 6 out of 14 years that he has coached college. Bo took over Nebraska at rock bottom and went 67-27.

The reason Riley is at Nebraska is because he is a nice guy...has nothing to do with coaching ability. Which is why I think his stay in Lincoln will be short lived.
this is a very one dimensional comment. Do you generalize your entire life?

I would take our roster in 2008 over our roster today in a heartbeat. "Rock bottom" Laughing

I'll admit we have no talent when the rest of you admit the coaching has been average save one position

Again how does talent effect penalties and time management.

This team is undisciplined on the field and that's a reflection of the coaching staff period.

Nobody says we want them fired that's stupid.
.and so are you if you keep lying and claim thats what everybody wants.

Even FBS teams look better coached than us and we know they have less talent.

Well it is a modern day

It was easily the worst era in the past 50 years. Losing season 2 out of 4 years. You are probably getting ready to go through a similar streak now...but it isn't rock bottom for Riley...it is the norm.

If this team actually did a bit more in the secondary and righted things a bit and with the offense and what they can do this team would be a nightmare for any team. I'm trying to find any positives that I can because I do believe that we will progressively get better each week and for that matter the positive I get is that we are actually building our own depth just due to injury. Some of these young kids are getting extremely valuable time on the field and as we get healthier you will see how much better we are. I feel as long as our coaches are humble and will try other things and try to figure out our issues we could be as mentioned a very good team by the end of the year. I do think we have enough talent to win 9 games we just need to get healthy before the real meat of the schedule comes on and we need to stay healthy.

Chill. We have talent.
