Obviously - what's your plan for the future of the program, Kaz? I would fire Read, look into who the best 2 young recruiters are in the Midwest region- hire them/fire Davis/Stewart. We need to get young and energized at those coaching positions. Ask Strong if he would be interested in coming here- if he wants to come- fire Banker as well. Identify best OL/DL in JUCO ranks- offer even it means cooling on WR recruits.
I'm not sure why people are so invested in the first couple years. We knew the first couple years would be rough. Finished 9-3 this year with a couple embarrassing losses - Iowa stings much more for me. That's basically what everyone expected at the start of the year, no? Polls on this site had huge numbers in the 8-9 win column at the start of the year. And we didn't lose to anyone we shouldn't have. I suppose you can argue about the details of those two bad losses, but honestly, I'm not terribly worried about it.
1) Read has to go and Tavita has to be promoted. Sooner rather than later so he can recruit. He's awesome.
2) Finish the class strong
Next year it's time to start putting significantly more blame on the staff for problems. They are formally on the book for me in year three.
I seriously think it was huskerhamwallet. I don't think I've really ever hid from the fact that this isn't my first username.
I GUARANTEE if Saban was head coach they hired and not Riley their record and play in games that matter would be better.

That's the thing. The roster is so imbalanced that they need to get receivers this cycle. It is imperative that the last 2 years of line recruits develop quicker than ever. Because of the roster imbalance, and people like you who have the inability to ubderstand it, we are going to rely on underclassmen next year along the lines.

So whose at fault for last years dline class which consisted of zero D tackles and two tweeners at defensive end? D Line is an issue...one of many and that includes coaching.
I think you know exactly what I'm saying.
After the hot start people started to think this team was something more than it was. Go back and look posts from fall camp. You'll overwhelmingly see a fan base that was predicting 8-9 wins, and, demanding that we don't lose to anyone we shouldn't.
We achieved that metric after a year one that included five wins.
Like I said. Next year is when we should really start evaluating this staff in greater detail. Proof will be in the pudding by the end of year four. For better or worse.
