Tanner Lee - NFL QB?????

I think he throws a nice ball. However, I am not sure he is a gamer. A guy like Tommy Armstrong, he was a gamer. He could put the team on his back. Lee has not shown that kind of ability.

C'mon. Give the kid a chance. He throws a nice ball. Let's see the rest of this game and the rest of the year before making pronouncements.

He's been pretty bad today. With that said...not many QB's have had much luck first year in this system.

How many excuses can you make? You can't go from NFL fourth QB picked to this today. He is just off. Blame Langs and whomever you wish, and I like the kid, but he is disappointing today for sure. He isn't exactly a rookie and new to this system. He had all last year to learn it. I just hope he gets better as the year goes on.

Much bigger environment than he has ever experienced with a very loud crowd and a freshman Rt tackle. He was getting guys in his face the whole 4th quarter and the last tipped ball came because of pressure from the right side. Oregon definitely has speed in it's secondary and our WRs weren't getting as open as we would have hoped. Next week. This second half gave me hope.

Your third sentence is right. He is just off today.

The question is, was this an abberation or will it prove to be the rule? Time will tell.

He definitely has some mental things to work on. Was surprised to see Gebbia travel for this game. I'll just leave it at that.

He wasn't as bad as his 4 INTs today, one was a tipped ball Morgan should have caught and the last one was his arm getting hit. The other 2 INTs were bad, though. I'm not thrilled but I'm not giving up on him either, he showed some ability at times.

Failure to step up in pocket on last int was bad and throwing high balls will cause problems all year. Hopefully he will get better as he looked pretty good until the last quarter and a half.

A guy from the backside you understand. You have to be smarter with a guy rushing in your vision. He has to step up or eat it.

He is confident with his throws. He has made some great throws today. Few mistakes, Oregon just capitalized so far
I'll take your word for it as I missed the first 2 .5 quarters. But he looked awful in the quarter and a half that I saw. Seemed like WRs weren't getting open and he was trying to force everything.

I think Lee has the potential, but he's certainly not ready for the NFL. He won't be going after this year, but given 2 years in the system I can see it being possible.

He was off in the second half for sure. 2 interceptions were just bad luck. Hopefully the second half will give our defense confidence moving forward.

Lee is not a gamer.. quit making excuses for him.. he could have easily gotten us in there and scored in the 4th.. all he had to do was go get it.

Gebbia, I believe is your #2 if Lee is out for an extended time. I have stated before that I thought they should have just started Gebbia this year.

Once again, Riley is sandbagging.. always trying to prep for the next year..

He had a number of others that were simply dropped. The third to last series of the game he threw it right to the defender who dropped it.

So...we blamed TA...now we are blaming TL...Just want to make sure none of the fault is on the staff.
I'm talking specifically about a kids ability to be a gamer or player if you will. Tommy had that in spades. Lee, well.. now you know.

He had a bad game. My concern is throwing into coverage WAY too much and not checking down or reading progressions. If he cant do that now he never will. Might as well go to Gebbia.

That defense was 126th out of 128th last year. Plus they have a new scheme which means it will take some time to learn. How do you have four interceptions against them?

Kid's a decent QB---not sure about NFL caliber but he's still young. He's pretty good but way too many forced balls and floating a pass when he needs to throw a bullit. Also looked like he was throwing off his back foot a lot and that surprised me. Like the fact that he stays very cool. We'll win some with Tanner and lose some. It is what it is, and don't think we should expect too much from the kid at this point.

TA used to get pulled out of games to settle down in favor of Ron Kellogg. Lee is in game 2. I'm willing to see how he adjusts as the season goes on.
