Is this the start of a resurgence with bigger name players? Seems if a few "name" players get on board, more follow. Certainly is a huge get for Nebraska and the staff.

Aside from K Jr., I think some of the surge started with the solid beat down of Ucla in the bowl, momentum is clearly with this program again. I will admit, there is a lot of ground to be plowed yet, and I was neutral about Mike Riley when he was hired, not off the bandwagon but I certainly knew he needed time to get his style implemented. So far, so good!

I don't think the UCLA win was a big factor in KJJ recruitment. I could still see him being N with a UCLA loss. But others that might join on board, that W in the bowl game can only help. I'm very excited for this class and even more so with each verbal we get. Let's get ready to rumble.

According to the article he was leaning elsewhere until a month or so ago before we became the leader for his services so the UCLA game while nice meant zero at least in terms of this recruit

Whole lotta corner turning for the 6 win team..

To me the turning point was the MSU game. It looked like a team on a mission from that point onward. Iowa wasn't pretty (4 ints), but it was very clearly Nebraska playing to be Nebraska again. It's been very good to see!

Edit: I don't mean a particular playing style, outside of a certain will and intensity that has seemed lacking in recent years. GBR.

I think the turn was after Purdue. I think they felt "never again" after that game. The coaches learned they had to play to win (run the ball) instead of win their way. They were late to the party because we had tried to tell them from game one run to win. But they were hard headed IMO. Yet they reached a point where it was victory at any cost to them that was running the damn football.

Ha! "we had tried to tell them..." That is rich.

This is that time when I have to remind the fans on this board that Riley and the entire coaching staff knows full well the benefit of running the ball. This isn't a case of "win their way." The coaching staff knows more than anyone on this board spending their time typing their rants. They installed a new offense that yes, gasp, includes passing the ball. The team on both sides didn't adopt immediately, but started to see the fruits of their labors at the Sparty game. I agree with you, however, that the Purdue game was a turning point - I believe that was Nebraska's collective 'rock bottom' and there was a higher sense of urgency from that day forward.

I expect better things ahead for this team in 2016.

I have to disagree. We are getting playmakers into the program. And that is one of the main building blocks in a top program.

But the proof is in the pudding when we can beat teams like Oregon and Wisconsin and win the West division and not lose to teams like Illinois and Purdue

Obviously winning games is the end goal. However, there is always a correlation between teams who consistently win games and championships and recruiting rankings. This could be the start of a monster class and a jumpstart to improving talent all over the field. That, to me, is an accomplishment in and of itself.

The main part is seeing improvement and seeing recruiting and other stuff get better, which we are seeing. There doings what's need to build there type of program and football they want here at Nebraska. Yes we ALL know last year sucked, we had a lossing season. Point tookin over and over again now. But there getting some good recruits, playmakers, loading up on DBs and LBs and got us a true passing QB and another one on the way. Progress is being made and i for one have put last season in the past and ready for the future.
