Sounds like Keshawn is listening to the tide now...

Bama was one of his finalists when he chose us, same with Gebbia. It's not like they haven't already heard their pitch, I'm not worried.

He should have said "creepy" 40 YO men. Remember, if one is 40, you are automatically creepy.
I love some of the follow up tweets by others saying, "Well I'm on 30-something so what I say is okay".

I lied. I didn't love those tweets. Those 30 year-old's sound just as creepy as a 40 year old. Though creepy may be the wrong word if you're in your 30's, but whatever that word should be it isn't good.

I don't get grown men and women "worrying" about what someone else's 18 year old son is going to do. If he comes that would be fantastic, if he doesn't I am sure the sun will come up and life will go on. I won't have the need to trash talk or make excuses to make me feel better - its his life - not ours.

I don't know, check out the meltdown going on at Texas a & m. Seems to me these recruits are pretty tight.
If you follow what is going on there-it had to do with a tweet by a coach about loyalty after one player bailed. Then another player bailed because of what the coach said-not because the other recruit bailed.

I would imagine threads like this are great for Chiropractors due to all of the face palming and head shaking that goes on by Posters and Recruits...

The fact that other high profile schools are making recruiting pitches to one of our verbal commits is a great sign of how our class is shaping up. This kind of thing happens all the time at the best schools in the country. Everyone needs to get used to it and act like we've been here before.

Also, the NU coaches need to continue to recruit Keshawn Johnson Jr. and other highly rated WR prospects. Nothing is a done deal until the letter of intent is signed.

Bingo - we have a winner. It is life in the fast lane with the big dogs, learn how to deal with it.

I always laugh because creepy and 40 year old are always synonymous on the message boards lol. I'm 43 and was every bit as creepy when I was 32. Ask my wife.

Has anyone brought up that it would be a recruiting violation if Joey Freshwater were to speak with Junior?

He gone ...

(not really - just always wanted to proclaim that .... unless he really is gone, in which case I called it first)

When one recruit refers to another as his brother, but they share no DNA, I think you can these players are close. The coach's misspeaking may have been a catalyst, but these players are undoubtedly close.

Of course he should listen to the Tide. A lot of things can change/happen between now and signing day. I have very little doubt that he is a solid N....as solid as anyone we have ever had this early, but as we have all experienced in the last 10 years or so, things change, things fall apart. He is smart to stay in touch with other schools, at least on a cordial level. Save the outrage and think logically.

Thank you for gracing us with this bit of information days after the fact.

Thanks for trying to incite panic, and realizing it was poorly executed.

And you are welcome. Consider my post on your thread as a little ray of light on the day you lost all hope for KJJr.

Whatever. If you had something important to say, you should have spoke up about 2 days ago when this topic was still relevant. You just want to start crap... I get it.

I thought long and hard about this topic for 2 days. Lost some sleep, paced around and then finally came up with my response. Oh yeah, and decided to "start crap" by not calling out anyone in particular in my original post.

It's as relevant as the topic was days ago. It wasn't.

Oh... So somebody didn't tweet out that Lane was going to visit Keshawn, and various media members around Nebraska didn't instantly retweet said tweet... That was all imagination? Ok, thanks for setting my mind at ease about how irrelevant it was initially (while I do agree it is irrelevant now that's over and Lane never did meet up with Keshawn), hence my comments to jteten for showing up to the party after it was over and dropping mad wisdom.

And, can only make it rain (the Media) in the eyes of the fans who fall for their stormy forecast. Rise above, people. GBR!

I hope he doesn't waver during the year when the usual suspects go apesh*t any time a forward pass is attempted or lament how we should be offering more Nebraska kids who have verbally committed to one of the Dakota schools

This reminds me of a proverb:

“Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭17:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

People cannot not say something stupid. They always have to respond even when they should just be listening...KJJ wants attention like any 17-18 yo kid does, but he doesn't need us fans telling him what to do. Harping on him and telling him what he should be doing is a way to drive him off. KJJ has enough pressure from life in general, he doesn't need more from us. Just sit back listen, and R-E-L-A-X.

Yep. Going to be a long time till signing day. Combine the media looking for clicks / traffic + posters needing to be "first" to spread the half baked gossip and it makes me feel sorry for some of these kids.

Well, I saw a first in this thread. We are now criticizing commits who are still committed to the school. Criticizing starters is nothing new. Criticizing backups is nothing new. Criticizing decommits is nothing new. But now we're criticizing commits.

Sorry, but 17-22 year old young men who put their bodies on the line and put in the amount of dedication and hard work it takes to be a D1 athelete don't owe any of us a damn thing.

Just for clarification's sake, Tate Martell was the first recruit to decommit. After Coach Morehead was a giant douche all night, another RECRUIT announced he wouldn't be choosing that school. He's a classmate of Martell's so yes, those two are tight. But even he said the treatment of Martell (i.e the way Morehead was acting) was the reason he was cutting off recruitment from Texas A&M. In other words, it might have been harder to get Lindsey but Morehead going on Twitter and whining all night cemented the departure.

The other commit who de-committed made it clear he left because of the coach's behavior and not because Martell left.

I don't begrudge any player with options to see any and all potential schools that they may spend 3-4 years at. It is a smart personal and business decision. Many of us would do the same if it was for a job/career with different benefits or salaries. We shouldn't pass judgment on a kid for speaking with another coach. It is too early in his life to burn bridges, even if DONU fans dislike it.
