So Many Will Be Livid With This Win

I think everyone has a right to go "wtf" with a few things. our offense isn't good.

But given just how god-awful we've been the last decade, I'm guessing you're going to hear a lot more of "let's go" and trying to keep it positive. Realistically this is about the best we could have hoped for on the year and our defense is legit. One win for a bowl. Win the next two weeks and we can look a little bigger.

Not much else to say really.

You play these games against your own standard since the defense of the opponent is not a good one.

The special teams TD is a great thing to see.

3.2 yards a carry is room to grow.
11 attempts makes sense in the game.
Turnovers too many given but like to see the three gained.

Room to grow. Survive and advance. The remaining schedule set up for more survive and advance to a bowl game with extra practices, a major success no matter what else happens, extra practices.

I’ll be honest, I was livid a few times today. Fumbling the opening kickoff; fumbling the punt (thanks for the replay); fumbling the first snap of the second half; both 4th quarter fumbles.

But - this Nebraska team responds well to adversity. Their predecessors did not.

I was mostly happy today. We took care of a team that was pretty bad across the board. We’ve been losing these games for years.

I’m tickled that we won. Three is a row, we haven’t won three in a row in years. Now that doesn’t mean that criticism isn’t warranted.

The team needs better ball security. HH has been really lucky on the amount of fumbles he has had and somehow aren’t lost. We can’t fumble punts and kick returns. We can’t have runners fumble so often.

It’s great to see a team not buckle under adversity, that’s a huge step forward. Im really happy we won. But the end makes it feel a little like waking up next to a girl you thought was a 9 and ended up being a 6. You still got laid, but she wasn’t what you thought she was.

Nobody should be livid, but yes some will be. By now, everyone should know what we have. Haarberg’s passing is improving. We won’t beat any good teams with this offense but there are no good teams left on the schedule.

Livid about what?

A lot of bad things happened early, we survived, rallied, and had 21-0 halftime lead and won 34-14.

We are far from a pretty football team that has lost a crap ton more than we have won in our most recent years.

You think some magic switch turns on and we win 11 games and can beat Ohio State?

A lot of great things happened today. We are getting better. 5-3 and a bowl game on the horizon. Baby steps.

I don't think anyone thought this team was a 9 at any point. The defense is better than expected. Limit the turnovers and they are pretty good.

The offense got really out of sorts and Purdue’s D was playing like a rabid badger. Then they ran EJ up PU’s keister. They didn’t stumble to the finish line, they righted themselves and salted the game.
Purdue always seems to have some dudes on defense. We turned the ball over too much but if we didn't have injuries I'll take it.

The only thing I'd be livid about are the fumbles. Everything else though? Looked good to me. Already won 2 more games than I thought they'd win coming into this season (thought they'd go 3-9 based on Rhule's track record of struggling year 1). One win away from a bowl game and most importantly, the 15 extra practices.

This isn't the most talented team in the Big 10 as it is. Throw in the fact 70% (or more) of the 1st string offense is out because of injuries and I'm just happy they're scoring at all. The fumbles, as a team, are an issue that needs to be addressed.

Need 2 more wins and my dad wins his bet on the over. I thought he was crazy making that bet (still do until I see it!) but he's in way better position than I expected.

Me thinks you are looking for an argument with this one. The win is awesome, the defense is awesome, and we have a bad ass kicker!!! It’s 100% okay to be pumped about 5-3 and the path forward…….yet still be critical about the poor decisions and turnovers. Not mutually exclusive.

I'd rather bang a five then have to use my five .

Let’s be real here though. What’s changed from preseason is that the schedule is even worse than previously expected. And there is no reason to believe that the turnovers will suddenly be limited. Enjoy the ride.

Haven’t seen anyone livid. I’m so happy with this defense. Our offensive system is fine. The problem on O are players that aren’t good enough, but they work hard. Until we get better across the front and QBs that keep fumbling, we’ll continue to struggle at times.

I was at the game so you get to see more than you do on TV.

PU players are kind of assholes, lots of late hits and punching. They also suck and they clearly will be lucky to win 6 games in 3 out out 4 years. They were just Dbags. It was weird.

I am sure that one PU fan will tell me I am wrong, but as usual, I am not

From what the HC there said this week, seems the players actions matched up with his words and goals for their actions.

They showed plenty on , the refs let that shit continue. That targeting call was full on BS.

Ehhhh, only hit up 3 spots.

The Old Pub: Not bad, kind of fun, right next to Muchachos and they had free pizza
Rosies: 5 dollar cover, lame. Packed
Embassy: Not bad
Barry's: They frisk you to make sure you don't have shooters, super lame
