No, the point of football is to defeat, destroy, demoralize and beat the guy across from you. It isn't a "moral" game...it is a violent game about dominance...win by as much as possible and get you 2nd string in so they can continue to dominate. It seems strange to ask a guy to be violent, to physical and mentally dominate an opponent, but do it quietly...but I can understand that a person who plays like that might be attractive.

Exactly. It is just too theatrical. Too over the top. Trashing the other team? F bombs? You can be energetic and pumped up as hell without doing that. The whole thing is just cringe inducing

If you took the time undoubtedly they got hundreds if not thousands of calls or emails about the same thing that triggered you. You’re not exactly a Karen or Kammie.

It's no different than the student section yelling F-you non-stop to CU. Where do you draw the line. When CU was walking through the tunnel there was a lot of the same from Nebraska fans. I here a lot on here complaining about the blue hairs being to quiet and not getting rowdy. Where is the fine line most want everyone to follow? We're talking 90K fans with a fine line to follow. As for Compton, he has a contract with Nebraska to do those video's.

when these kinds of debates pop up i always think to myself, and encourage others to do the same...ask yourself how you'd look at this kind of thing if (insert any team here, I'll use Iowa).... If Iowa did this, and said the exact same stupid shit, you'd be OK with it and just say "it's part of the game, no big deal"? I suspect you'd think its really trashy and make fun of them for the dorks they are and give props to Nebraska for not stooping so low. .

No reason to "hate" a bunch of 18-22 year olds from a small school living their dream to play college football and help pay for their educations. IMHO our country and world needs a lot less hate now, not more. Besides, UNI was on our field for 38:07 to our 21:53 TOP. So despite the final score, they seemed pretty comfortable being on our field.
Double edged sword… the converse of that meant the defense couldn’t get us off the field (at least til the second half) without us scoring. And what did all that TOP accomplish for UNI? Exactly 3 points.

I may change my tune after Friday… I’ll be there with my wife, daughter and son in law for the first time in close to 20 years (not counting the spring game 6 or 7 years ago). Can’t wait to finally be back!
OMG, too much hate, living their dream blah blah blah. It is a game. It is sports, In most cases, this isn't real hate toward these players. They chose to go to a school that wasn't Nebraska. So when they are on the field against Nebraska, they are the enemy, but I don't want them dead or anything. This isn't quite the same as real world hate, where people are looking to kill their opponent or take innocent people as hostages.
Compton is a type of personality we need as he draws in recruits and has energy that provides a spark to Nebraska and its image. Who cares if he states that “they don’t belong on the same field as us” - you could and should say that about every opponent.

Fans have been talking shit to opponents for decades. It isn't progressing and certainly no opponent is dying on the field from being told they have no business on the field with Nebraska.
According to him there is something in place to do these videos. whether he's being paid or not, can't confirm or deny the situation.

I’m as old as dirt with hearing aids. I couldn’t understand many of the words of his rants but if that 90 seconds fires up students and recruits I don’t have a big problem with it, certainly not enough to write letters to the AD.
Now, as for that nearly 40 minutes of time of possession by UNI, that does worry me, but again not enough to write the AD about it.🤣

Doing interviews with Rhule, Raiola, and showcasing the new facility also increases the public image of NebraskaHe draws in recruits? You mean, like football recruits?
