Perlman is one foot out the door, and even if he draws ire for messing around with football, he's respected for what he did on the academic side.
The Regents would have to want to seriously mess with history if they
1. Choose to fire a coach in his first year
2. Choose to do so by a vote 2 levels above where the decision is typically made
3. Choose to fire a respected University Chancellor whose main job is academics and not sport, 7 months from retirement no less
They *could* do this. I don't see a bunch of elected officials
1. Moving quickly
2. Moving against their normal conservative demeanor
So independent of my wants (I got no problems throwing 6 million at Herman), I *do not* see this happening. Its message board fantasy.
