This appears to be a loophole in the rule book. ASU got a free timeout to kick that field goal at the end of the half when the receiver removed his helmet on the ground. If the refs don't stop the clock they don't kick the field goal. Changes how the end of the game plays out too. If I'm coaching I am exploiting that every game I need to when I'm out of timeouts. Or did the refs blow that?
