I despise “take” fouls that give you six for the half. Save one for a final drive to the basket, and foul the guy while on the floor. Once NU got to six fouls, they were afraid to defend at all.

Right on que: put CJ in at end of half. Other team picks on him (no pun intended), and Huskers give up an easy 2. Those points matter when we keep losing games by one possession.
Dammit, any coach that has SH and CJ in at the same time in a meaningful game just isn’t serious about winning. Or is too blind to learn just how stupid this is. Does he not remember the 5 pts CJ was directly involved in giving up at the end of the 1st half of the 1st Iowa game????
I’ve said this many times. We do this because our guards lack quickness. No way can our guards stay in front of the opposing team’s guards.

But we don’t have to do it against iowa. They don’t have great post scorers and their guards aren’t gonna blow by us. A lot of teams have more athletic guards, iowa isn’t one of them.
Freaken defense sucks.. Need to shot better from 3 ourselves. There is where we are getting beat.
This is not the case against Iowa. Stick any of our better athletes, even Uhlis or Rollie on Harding and we’d be fine.

I wouldn’t be totally heartbroken if Dannen pulled the plug after this epic meltdown. Don’t see that happening, but the magnitude of our failure in the 2nd half of this season is legendary. And this is coming from a program who knows failure better than anyone.

Iowa is doubling Brice. I never understood why more teams didn’t do that. We have no one else who can step up.
Exactly right. Yet with the exception of last season that has been a staple of Hoiberg’s teams here. Stand and watch.
Morgan at least know enough to move to an open spot and make himself available. Everyone else seems content to stand and watch.

Almost all our double degit losses have been games the other team shuts down Brice.
Searching for anything positive, I’ve come up with this:

I mean we’ve been saying that all season. Fred did not get Williams and Gary an adequate supporting cast to be a legit NCAA tournament team. And our defensive strategy against teams that can shoot the ball is infuriating.

Exactly. No help from his supporting cast. Unfortunately in this case it is a team sport. The weakness of our roster shos up again.
The transfer haul last offseason was terrible and Fred not changing up his defense against these shooting teams is the demise.
Actually how do you not make a move . We will lose to the worst road team in the Big at home knowing we had to win to make the tournament.
I'm hoping Fred quits. I put the chance of Dannen making a change a 0.0%
