didn't sims grad transfer here? Can Hill and Sims transfer without sitting a year? Graduate transfer?
didn't sims grad transfer here? Can Hill and Sims transfer without sitting a year? Graduate transfer?
Not sure. I believe he still had his "regular" transfer available.didn't sims grad transfer here?
This is correctYou guys do know sims is a junior?? Maybe there's something goofy but that's my recollection
I think a poster is predicting that he’ll transfer, either voluntarily or because he’s he’s asked to leave. I can’t see that happening. You guys do know sims is a junior?? Maybe there's something goofy but that's my recollection
We’ll lose multiple TEs to graduation over the next two years too. Edge has been mentioned for him too.Tackle
But I read grad transfer hence my post...not a senior so if he'd transfer he'd have to sit unless NFL....I digressI think a poster is predicting that he’ll transfer, either voluntarily or because he’s he’s asked to leave. I can’t see that happening.
He’s on scholarshipGilbert shouldn't count. To my knowledge never got ncaa waiver
The papio roster on Max preps lists him at 260.he's 225/235, not 255
still, I agree.
Names? I can't think of any right off hand. Some of the best college OTs were high school TEs. At 255 already it’s pretty easy to project him to 300 after a couple of years in a program. It’s not impossible that some of the high school OTs they’re recruiting actually will end up fitting better at guard. Matt Farniok was a high school OT who fit better at guard.
Exactly. Like we are in junior high "I know something, but I'm not telling".Then why say anything at all, I guess is my point.
I don't think he is on campus. He had a stay at the Lumpkins County Jail. He may still be there. He’s on scholarship
Reilly Reiff from Parkston SD. Played tackle in the NFL for years. Still with Pats I think. We tried to recruit himNames? I can't think of any right off hand.
Right. But his scholarship was still counted against him this year.I don't think he is on campus. He had a stay at the Lumpkins County Jail. He may still be there.
I expect the defense to start attracting some pretty high caliber recruits. You can just see the swagger they play with.
ND’s A-A OT, Joe Alt, was a high school TE in Iowa. He is a true junior and will be a top 10 draft pick next Spring.Names? I can't think of any right off hand.
He is from MN and played OT as a SeniorND’s A-A OT, Joe Alt, was a high school TE in Iowa. He is a true junior and will be a top 10 draft pick next Spring.
Sims was not a grad transfer from GT, and his bio says he is on track to graduate in Dec 2023 from the Huskers. But I read grad transfer hence my post...not a senior so if he'd transfer he'd have to sit unless NFL....I digress
Uh, no.He is from MN and played OT as a Senior
You’re right, he played for Tortino High School in Fridley, MN; however, I just watched his video highlights posted on Rivals and he’s wearing a #16 jersey playing TE/DE and catching passes. It’s clear from the video that he was an excellent blocker and ND recruited him to play OT. I think he moved into the starting lineup in game 2 or 3 of his true freshman year, and was named a first team freshman A-A.He is from MN and played OT as a Senior
Another good take. TE is one of the most versatile positions. He could be developed into a WR/OL/TE/DE/DT/LB/FB.can never have too many
The offense is already on their 3rd OC in 3 years. I’m not sure changing OCs would be helpful. Satt is adjusting to the guys he has after losing 2 of their top WRs and their top 2 RBs.Sims was not a grad transfer from GT, and his bio says he is on track to graduate in Dec 2023 from the Huskers.
Eligibility wise he’s a junior but he turns 22 in January, graduates in Dec, is a turnover machine, and can’t read a defense.
Hence I am the one who is purely speculating that he won’t be here for the 2024 season.
I honestly think we’d be better off starting Kaelin in 2024 and at least get him the reps.
New OC would be nice too frankly
AND the QB they thought they had confidence in........stepped on the field and went full deer in headlights modeThe offense is already on their 3rd OC in 3 years. I’m not sure changing OCs would be helpful. Satt is adjusting to the guys he has after losing 2 of their top WRs and their top 2 RBs.
Also that's going to be Matt Rhule's thing. Some people go heavy portal. Rhule wants to go heavy highschool. I expect 25-30 guys per year for Rhule until this thing get's humming and guys don't want to leave.Sounds like a big number to churn but really isn’t these days…
Besides the seniors, I can easily see 15-20 other guys leaving. Which means really we likely have room for 30-35 or so guys for 2024 recruits and the upcoming portal guys.
For sure we need a high level QB and WR from the December portal guys, and probably a RB as well.
Also, about the Poly kids from Fonoti’s team… yes on one or both as well as Brix if he wants in. Just have a feeling Brix would have committed already if he was coming here.
Move on the older OL, they clearly aren’t cutting it…
Plus 2 things fans always say. They typically love the backup qb and they hate the OC unless they are scoring 100. Then they hate the DC.The offense is already on their 3rd OC in 3 years. I’m not sure changing OCs would be helpful. Satt is adjusting to the guys he has after losing 2 of their top WRs and their top 2 RBs.
What junior high did you go to? There were NO secrets where I went…Exactly. Like we are in junior high "I know something, but I'm not telling".
I hope for our sake he gets better. Many of his play designs are just awful. Gotta have that ace QB though, if you don’t have that you won’t have anything. The offense is already on their 3rd OC in 3 years. I’m not sure changing OCs would be helpful. We’re 9 months in with a completely new system, new starting QBs and 2 each of our topWRs and RBs out. Add in that our QBs don’t pose a consistent passing threat. We’re running the ball well. That’s a start. Satt is adjusting the offense to the guys he has left. I think he’s as good as anybody we’ve had since Callahan was fired.I hope for our sake he gets better. We need to hit up every top portal QB and think about 2 QBs next year. I like Manske but what about Circo? Is he legit and is the offer from the current staff?

Satterfield frustrates me because I feel like he could use screens to mitigate some of the pass rush pressure we get. But overall I feel like he is trying to call the game so we win and complement our defense. I feel last year Whipple was more concerned with scoring and calling it his way then actually winning. We’re 9 months in with a completely new system, new starting QBs and 2 each of our topWRs and RBs out. Ball placement and timing is extremely important in the screen game. My hunch is that we can’t execute screens in practice with QBs we have.Satterfield frustrates me because I feel like he could use screens to mitigate some of the pass rush pressure we get. I believe this is the best staff overall in a long time. Satterfield has done a good job tailoring the offense to the talents of the players on the field. We do not have playmakers to the level that he could fully utilize. Some people think that you can scheme average players into 1st round talents. It doesn't work that way.I actually liked Beck (ducks). But the fact that Satt has this unit, with all our personnel differences, #6 in the nation in rushing is something and he should get some credit for making lemonade so far.

So help me with all of the logic here.Sims was not a grad transfer from GT, and his bio says he is on track to graduate in Dec 2023 from the Huskers.
