They play for Toni Fonoti right?
Because that's not stealing the recruit's thunder and it excites the fans about something good coming. Then why say anything at all, I guess is my point.
Benning?
Eric Ingwerson just got a couple of crystal balls to flip to Nebraska.
Nice. Big dude who could possibly grow into a OT? Or be a big TE.Eric Ingwerson just got a couple of crystal balls to flip to Nebraska.
Some of the best college OTs were high school TEs. At 255 already it’s pretty easy to project him to 300 after a couple of years in a program. It’s not impossible that some of the high school OTs they’re recruiting actually will end up fitting better at guard. Matt Farniok was a high school OT who fit better at guard. It is odd because we already have Nelson and Flynt as TE's. Plus Smith and Quinn are kind of hybrid WR/TE's. A lot of people think he's being recruited as an OT, but is he really a better OT prospect than guys like Mufi, Tonga, and Brix? Or are we on the outside looking in on all three?

My mistake. The crystal ball profile has him at 235 and I misread it 🥴he's 225/235, not 255
still, I agree.

Couple of ribeyes and baked potatoes between the two.rivals says 225.
either way, with that frame, putting on 40+ good lbs isn't a stretch.
His uncle played OL for Nebraska (Tim Green) and his other uncle played OL for UNO (Dan Green).Nice. Big dude who could possibly grow into a OT? Or be a big TE.

His uncle Dan is helping coach his HS team, IIRC. Dan is a really awesome dude. Saw him almost a year ago, before Ingwerson got any offers and he said that the kid is going to blow up and be a P5 recruit. Turns out he was right.
I saw his film on Big Red Wrap Up last night. It seemed like Damon and Sean C knew he was going to flip already. His uncle Dan is helping coach his HS team, IIRC. Dan is a really awesome dude. Sounds like a big number to churn but really isn’t these days…He would put us at 26 commits....still have Benning, Brix, Ross as possible commits. Also have an OL visiting this weekend. Bringing in 30 freshmen would def be more than I anticipated. I'd guess we see at least one decommit.
We only have 9 scholarship seniors that have to move on...Sounds like a big number to churn but really isn’t these days…
Besides the seniors, I can easily see 15-20 other guys leaving. Which means really we likely have room for 30-35 or so guys for 2024 recruits and the upcoming portal guys.
For sure we need a high level QB and WR from the December portal guys, and probably a RB as well.
Also, about the Poly kids from Fonoti’s team… yes on one or both as well as Brix if he wants in. Just have a feeling Brix would have committed already if he was coming here.
Move on the older OL, they clearly aren’t cutting it…
Add in Gilbert to make 10. I find about 15 more that may make sense to move on - kids that haven’t seen the field yet like a Snodgrass or Kpai or that may retire due to injury, like Rahmir or Gabe. That 15 is a bit of a stretch too. After that, especially on defense, you’re losing contributors or freshman. Which I know happens every year. But still, anything over 25 is going to be a lot.We only have 9 scholarship seniors that have to move on...

Hopefully, our improved defensive play will result in us getting some good DL.

Sims is a freakin turnover machine, Emmett had every RB ahead of him except Grant go down and still didn’t play.Sims and Emmett Johnson? I don’t think so. And wasn’t Tagaloa expected to contribute before he was injured?
Can Hill and Sims transfer without sitting a year? Graduate transfer?Sims is a freakin turnover machine, Emmett had every RB ahead of him except Grant go down and still didn’t play.
Someone mentioned Tagaloa, and I know it seems he had potential bit I have seen this movie before. He might stay and contribute but would it really shock anyone if he doesn’t come back?
As for Hill, he hasn’t been good. I don’t think they should even try to bring him back. JMO.
Note my list and compare to who leaves after December and Spring ball and I’ll bet I hit on over 75%
It’s not rocket science. If you are here a couple years and still can’t even sniff the field then you’ll move on. Also, some NIL magic works as well since the chart has a few over the 85 and officially that can’t be so at least a couple guys either got moved back to walk on status or are using NIL
My point really is that we need to make the room for 29-30 for new recruits/transfers.
