The Huskers are in the midst of the busiest offseason month on the recruiting calendar and this weekend only adds to it as Friday there is also a Matt Rhule football camp as well.

Here’s a look at the official visitors for the weekend:
Callen Barta

Kind of a rarity these days, but Nebraska has one official visitor coming in that does not yet hold an offer, as this Topeka safety is making the trip back after a good camp last week.
Michael Burt

Quickly becoming one of the more sought after players in the state, Burt is a well regarded athlete with good size and speed, though limited production at tight end.

Still it says a lot when Power Five coaches are buzzing about you as many have since his introduction at Lindenwood Mega Camp, where he shined for a handful of coaches, including Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota.

Burt took a visit to Iowa and now it’s time for Nebraska. Can the Huskers close this one down or will there be a new Nebraska tight end to fear in Iowa City?

Landen Davidson

Nebraska is always looking for athletic and nasty up front and Davidson fits the bill despite being unsung in recruiting circles. The unranked recruit holds five Power Five offers and he earned Nebraska’s attention with a good day of camp.

The Huskers seem to be closing in on several offensive line recruits and bringing in Davidson could potentially give them options.
Jake Peters

Similar to Davidson the Huskers really liked what it saw from Peters during a camp visit last week and made sure the lineman knew he was welcome back in Lincoln both for another visit but also as a potential member of the 2024 class.

Keep a close eye on this Iowan over the weekend. Scuttlebutt is the Huskers feel like they’ve found an intriguing interior offensive lineman that can move people and plays with the attitude Rhule and staff want up front.

Braylen Prude

A Texas camp offer, Nebraska saw the 6-foot-4, 190-pound linebacker in person and decided to pull the trigger on a verbal tender. Now Prude is coming up to Lincoln and could be the latest Texan to join the class if the Huskers leave the door open.

This is a big bet on their own evaluations as Prude is currently a pretty lightly regarded recruit. Still Nebraska has seen him move and work. Is that enough to open the door for a weekend commitment?

Jacob Smith

The biggest name in over the weekend is this Cheshire Academy defender. Smith visited in March along with his twin brother, Jered, who has since committed to Michigan.

Jacob, however, is quite open to Nebraska and has built some connections here with the staff and with players on the current roster. Smith would be a nice pickup along the defensive front and has some versatility that could help make him an intriguing fit. Still it’s hard to see family breaking apart, but could a pair of twins find themselves on opposite sidelines in the Big Ten?

Evan Taylor
Long, rangy athletes with explosion is what this staff looks for on either side of the ball and Taylor comes to Lincoln from North Carolina as someone with the ability to play as a defensive back or a receiver.

Nebraska likes the physical profile and Taylor fits. The question is will he feel a fit in Lincoln and where exactly does the athlete fall on the recruiting board?

I know you've heard it before but thanks for all this. 👍

Are we in on any good running backs? That’s a position that has been underwhelming for us the past few years in my opinion. I know that our offensive line hasn’t opened many holes, but a really good running back can make something out of nothing. Our running backs have been average at best.

Supposed to be here next weekend.
