Purdy Refuses to Face Media After L

“Politely”, according to the OWH

Interesting choice

maybe he's been told he's not in the future plans - who knows ? This whole portal mechanism has kids so screwed up. It's hard to have a cohesive team when half the kids have one foot out the door on a regular basis. They spend too much time looking elsewhere rather than sacking up and taking on the challenge of being where they currently are planted.

Not a good look but is that really a good comparison? Would anybody have actually interviewed Favre at Southern Mississippi or Rodgers at Juco/Cal? NFL is mandatory media availability after games IIRC?
he's a packer fan, so I was speaking his language

Neither was Harberg, he at least took the tough questions. Purdy gave our team the best chance to win games but he will probably always be a mental midget by hiding in his darkest hours.
What the H is it going to prove, talking to a bunch of media vultures? Granted he missed the LB, that happens in football, you put it behind you as quickly as possible and don't dwell on it! Let the fans and vultures dwell on it!

Of course he did, it's tough to face hard questions after a loss and the entire team has a toughness issue. Toughness isn't how much someone can lift or how fast they are, it's having the mental strength to not get a false start penalty during stressful situations, holding on to the ball when you're called upon, not throwing a pick when the program is on the line, calling the right plays that give you the best chance to win. It's barely even a physical thing, toughness is a mental state of mind and this program is the weakest I've ever seen in any sport at any level.

These guys would save themselves a lot of grief if they occasionally made the right play instead of the wrong one. I'm thinking all the way back to Purify who fumbled the first play of the big 12 title game and was allegedly in tears after the game. Do the right thing then you won't have to cry about it later. Also looking at you Caleb W.

Would have also preferred he face the media but I can guarantee you whatever he said would have also been skewered and picked apart to no end and the people bitching about him not coming to the podium would just shift their bitch, to whatever he said...besides, it isn't like the last pass is going to be explained away anyway. Out of all my concerns about our season and future going forward...him not taking questions doesn't make the cut for me.

I hope so. We need all three of our scholarship quarterbacks to transfer out so we have 3 scholarships to give to transfer quarterbacks. I never want to see any of our current QB’s on the field of play again.
This is silly. I don't really want any of them returning as the starter (my order Purdy>Haar>Sims), but flushing the entire room leaves the very real possibility of an ever bigger shit show next year. If you think there are even good odds that going 100% portal + freshman would be an improvement you're not paying attention. Keeping Purdy and Haarberg on the roster AND bringing in a solid transfer would be a huge win. I believe that both would be better next year because I have to believe in Rhule's ability to develop until I see he can't do it. It's really all we have. The defense developed a bunch of guys into better players this year, now the offense needs to do the same.

You are probably correct that it is best to keep one as a backup. But both? Assuming we can land one good QB in the portal I think we should keep one at most.

These sort of plays happen at every level. They hurt the players and team way more than they'll ever hurt you or I.

I'm in favor of keeping both, especially if we are going to continue getting our QB's beat to shit. Also, Haarberg could be special at several other positions and I think that might be a real possibility.

Aside from that, I'm about 80% sure that Purdy is gone. Honestly, if I was him I'd probably be ready for a fresh start somewhere else.

Maybe I don't undersrand how transfers work now but I thought you could only do it once...grad transfer not with standing or the standard mental issue bullshit excuse.....so unless HH wishes to leave the other two will be here, right?

He looked bitterly disappointed on the sidelines as time ran out.
If the posters on this thread are representative of the fans, I'd strongly suggest he move away from this toxic environment.
I was thinking the same thing. He was completely crushed after that game. When I was coaching, I would want to see that response after a tough loss.

Then, I would always tell the kids, "Now we can choose what to do with it. We can cry and feel sorry for ourselves...or work to get better so that you don't ever have that feeling again. That's what it means to hate losing more than you love winning."

I really don't give a shit if he refused to talk to the media. What I care about is how he responds going forward. The game is over.... he made the mistake. He'll either get the yips....or become mentally tough.

If all 3 could transfer...Purdy will be the only one with legit options.

I'm assuming Purdy will graduate and thus be able to grad transfer and play right away. Could be wrong.

edit: looked it up, pretty sure this is true.

Haarberg aint going anywhere. Simms for sure is gone if he is able to which it sounds like he can. Purdy is the wildcard but I think he ends up staying.

Not with the frequency they've been happening here. There's something else going on besides just "that's the way the ball bounces".
