Press Conference today!

no thanks, let @HBK4life post it instead.

anybody catch the newest episode of Yellowstone? Liked how they finally showed the John Dutton murder.

disappointed that they didn't take the opportunity to redeem Jaime's character at the end by having him record the conversation with the brunette gal. my theory is that they're poising to move the show to Texas and do a soft reboot with Matthew McConaughey. lot of waxing poetic about "muh Texas beef industry" in the last couple episodes.

Well Dana said he had the most fun calling plays last Saturday than he's had in a long time.

Seems as though nothing has been decided yet, but the vibe to me seems like Dana might stick around. They have to cross t's and dot i's, but Dana has a feel for the way the program is being run and seems like he might hang around for a bit.

That would be a huge win for everybody.

He also talked about the bowl practices and getting a chance to see some of the young wide receivers.. he says he has no idea who they are yet.

It was a big positive from what I saw.

Let’s hope it stays that way on Friday

Good lord, if you're a fan of Nebraska football please take a few minutes and watch this press conference. I think Holgorsen is the perfect fit with Rhule and what we're trying to do here. I hope he's here next year and his honesty in saying just how much he's enjoying his role gives me hope.

Pretty sure that's why they brought him in to be the badguy. You don't do that unless you're planning on keeping him otherwise nothing gained.

As I said in a couple of posts, what Dana brings brings to the table outside of his offensive prowess is his cerebral mentality along with his fire and attitude which looks like thay have already imprinted themselves on the offensive players and staff and has trickled their way over to an already very good Blackshit unit. To be honest with you, the way that OL played Saturday looked like one of uncle Milty's OLs as they absolutely mauled and destroyed that Wiscy DL in utter dominating fashion with 10+ panckes and made them look absolutety stupid and that DL pretty much manhandled Oregon's OL, think about that one for a minute.. Even Pelini's OL never really showed what we saw Saturday as they played like big ass mfr's, Those holes they opened were so huge you could drive a semi through them. To get this straight, this OL isn't one of Milty's and not even close but they sure as hell looked like one of them. One thing that's encoraging, was the OL wasn't called once on a holding penalty.

Whoa there. The OL looked better because of the play calling to their and offense strength.

Far from a milt line though but compared to what we've been used to seeing at times, I understand the giddiness

Hell yeah, give him Satt’s salary and keep him next year!

There's a new sheriff in town... Show it in practice or sit it out. He used the golden boy as the sacrificial cow on Sat. It worked. Everyone on offense got the point. There is purpose in their steps now, just as TW does it on defense. BRAVO. Everyone knows to leave it on the field or you won't see the field.

Doubt that. He was a part time analyst for TCU. Houston is on the hook for his contract for a few more years. They’ll be more than happy to see us pay him a million or so per year.
One comment from Holgerson that I think is important is the comment of how much fun he had Saturday, which is harder to have when you are the head guy. He seems to be geeking out on the playbook with the offensive staff with the final authority on the call sheet. I can see the McGuire kid pitching certain pass plays. If they can rep it well and think it will work against Iowa, it goes on the call sheet.
If I’m Holgerson and want to end my career in big conference football, success in the B1G as an OC is a path he’s on already.

it's probably not over bering at NU, but I know like at texas a HC has to hobnob with big donors alot, probably at a&m too...and I know houston had 1 major donor, who might have been hands on....thats another thing a HC has to deal with..mack brown was probably good at that...

It's the new Chip Kelly dynamic. "I'm rich. I just want to call plays."

I think the natural inclination for Dana is to mentally say "FU Houston" you fired me, so I'm gonna make you pay. Maybe Dana will be the OC next year at NU for about 750-800K which is still a "reasonable" amount and he still gets to stick it to Houston.

Even though we all know, in 2 short weeks Dana could make upwards of 2 Million a year as OC, and most of us fans would consider it money well spent.

Dana's gonna get his 3-4 Million next year, regardless of how that money comes in.

Give him double Satts salary and make it hard to even listen to other offers. This isn't some young coach. This man has PROVEN his ability to coordinate offense. Lock him up.
Until Houston completes his buyout payments, teams competing for his services would simply be negotiating how much money they pay Houston. Holgerson will be where he wants to be in 2025. We hope that place is Lincoln. His buyout runs for three years after this. By the time the end of the 2027 season comes around he may have already signed a head-coaching contract somewhere. Nebraska only needs to pay him an amount that won’t draw attention of the lawyers for the University of Houston athletic department.
I take what Holgerson said at face value. He’s really enjoying calling plays, he has agreed to be at NU through the bowl game and he hasn’t thought about things much past that.

I get the impression that he isn’t as interested in being a head coach and would rather be the offensive coordinator..

Most certainly as of today. Both of his HC gigs were difficult. I could see not wanting the headache especially when the program that fired you is basically going to get paid the salary that your school would be paying you.
