Preacher Rhule Really Say This?

Who was run off that didn't deserve it? Maybe Bo, he was right about Eichorst after all. The people entrusted with this program have been derelict of duty for quite some time, while the fans have been mostly right. And Rhule could have reset the roster, it's not like Deion had special rules only for him, our guy chose not to and early returns are that was a mistake. You do NOT need 3 years to turn around a program in modern football, you can tell right away who has something going and who's already lost momentum. Losing the Colorado game will cause a lot of problems, just remember I told you so.
You might wind up being right, but as of this moment in time you're either overreacting or grinding an axe. No way the bolded is axiomatic.

Dude, you don’t seriously think Rhule (or damn near anyone) was going to do what Deion did, do you? If you did, you’re delusional.

Is it a crime to talk up your opponent prior to the game? Plenty of coaches do this. Hopefully Colorado will be too busy enjoying their coming out party a little too much and won't be ready when the Preacher rolls into town.
Anyone who doesn't understand that a lot of coaches do this (and why they do it) obviously has never coached kids at a higher level.

You serious, Clark? What rock have you been living under?
I cannot see his comment anymore. I'm wonder if he deleted it? CU has some big time players on their team. And Neon Deon assembled a decent coaching staff to do most of the work and apparently do it well since they just slapped that team together in 3 weeks and beat a decent team.

To do most of the work?

Get real

Kid who went for 4 TDs out of the backfield has been playing for Deion since he was 4 years old

Anyone who doesn’t think Deion is serious about coaching has never heard him speak

There in lies how it will all shake out. TCU is closer to the 5 win team of 2 years ago than last years version.
No. They are nothing like they were 2 years ago. That team wasn't coached by this current staff. Everything from the personnel to the schemes are way different than TCU of 2 years ago. Whatever they are, it's a new version of themselves. They may run the table from here on in. They could be another run of the mill 7-8 win team. Doubt they fall to bowl-less and I doubt anyone would bet money of that result.

You knew Rhule track record coming in but you expect different. First year isn't so great, year two is the improvement. Rhule stated it's a process and won't happen overnight. Get over it.

Yeah, but that was before the portal happened, no?

He isn't as dangerous as Taylor Martinez pre-injury (or even possibly AM) running the ball. He throws the ball about as well as TM. Matt Rhule should go back and look at the offense Pelini ran in 2010 as it might be our best shot at winning.
That's a cheap shot at TM. Sims passing ability is at the level of Jamal Lord, and his running isn't as good as either TM or Lord.

Yeah he’s serious. Never said he wasn’t. I’m pretty sure everyone knows Deon likes to talk and he’s a good public speaker. But that’s the easiest part. Deon brought some great talent with him. He’s doing what he was hired to do. He’s just not doing a lot of the actual coaching.

I’m still wondering who told you that Hunter was a lower division caliber player. Hunter has always been a high 5 star talent.

Dude, there was post after post after post after post from a buuuunch of anti-Deion morons talking about this. May not have been specific to Hunter (although I think there were even some of those), but ad nauseam about how none of their players or Deion have ever faced the talent they're going to face now and it wouldn't translate and there's no way he can coach and he's all show and they're going to get exposed and on and on and on. Hell, there's a live thread on this site right now titled "Colorado will be TERRIBLE."

I called the kid [Hunter] exactly what he is, a transfer from a HBCU, with 19 tackles and 2 INT, playing against a very low level of competition. That is a fact.

Getting called out by the Coach Prime fan club bright and early, cute.

I never said Hunter wasn't talented or wasn't a big time recruit. I balked at the claim that McClain and Hunter would be the best CB duo we face all year, as neither had taken a D1 snap at CB.

If anything game 1 proved this right, not wrong. McClain is third on the depth chart and couldn't get on the field for a defense getting torched. Hunter started and even had an INT, but was also a big part of the reason that the defense gave up 42 points and 540 yards.

Probably a little early for a victory lap on that one Super Fan.

Apologies to your feelings

Just rehashing a discussion during which you refused to acknowledge Hunter’s ranking as the #1 overall recruit in his class, instead insisting on calling him a transfer from an HBCU with stats worse than Hartzog.

It’s okay. I’m wrong all the time. No need to lash out at your fellow Husker fans.

GTFO with your bullshit. I'm "lashing out" against being called out by the Coach Prime superfans and to you taking my accurate assessment out of context to do it.

I know his ranking, I pushed back against the claim he and a True Freshman would be the best CB duo we face all year. Which was a stupid claim and has not proven to be correct at all.

I know you SAY you’re wrong all the time, but it sure doesn’t feel like you believe it.

People really want to he excited about Hunter. He had a nice game but 120 yards receiving and 1 int isn't Heisman worthy. It was impressive playing that many snaps both ways but it wasn't some unbelievable performance that I will never forget.

It DID bother me that Rhule defended his decision to go for the TD at the end of the first half, with what, 11 seconds left?

11 seconds left is plenty of time to try a pass.

The call was correct.

The play by the QB was terrible.

Kicking a FG with 11 seconds left in that scenario? You might as well never call an offensive play again and just chop your balls off and walk off the field.

I agree and you'd certainly know.

You play to win. I don’t have a problem with going for it there
agreed. with 11 seconds, need to take a shot at the 7.

my concern was the play call. something rolling out with a run/pass throw...or throw away to stop clock.

Satt's play call had one option really and it was covered.

it was a high/low concept

there were 2 options and sims threw to the covered one

the other was WIDE OPEN at the goal line

It had two and the QB can always just throw it away. A Middle School QB is expected to make that play. Only thing you can't do is take a sack or throw an INT.

I was a bit concerning that Prime was saying openly this is a heated rivalry and is taking it personally. Meanwhile, Rhule look exhausted and never mentioned anything of a rivalry and was speaking incredibly high of Colorado. Makes me think he is scared of competition.

Where do people come up with this?

Here’s a thought… say it out loud to another person. After they are done laughing, don’t post it.

open....ok. wide open? nah. the other option was 87 TE Boerkircher where the ball would have to have been thrown low. Minny left CB was within 3 yds before the ball was thrown and a QB spy to the right who may have had a play, or at least a hit on after a possible catch.

Open, sure. Wide open....no.

7:49 second mark.

87 was wide open. This really isn't debatable.

Thank you for pointing that out. I guess I was thinking more that it was coming from a credible source. The truth is I skip a lot of threads on here. I'll admit that I didn't think Deon could throw a team together with a lot of guys only joining the team in the fall, but I knew he had some damn good skill guys.

Unless Sims has an absolute cannon, which I don't think he does, 87 was not WIDE open.

There was a defender on each side of him and a defender behind him.

Not sure if he has the arm strength to zing it in there.

If he throws it early #27 could have jumped on it.

It's all about timing.

IDK, either way he made a terrible throw when he should have just thrown it in the stands.
