Preacher Rhule Really Say This?

This D is taylor made for the offense that we'll see Buffy run Saturday. A CU fan got on here the other day giving his insight and said that their lines are much smaller than ours and think we will win. Guy is from Colorado and now has lived in York for the past 5 years.

Sims made an incredible bad decision and then the throw wasn't very good.

If you're gonna throw that route, it needs to be on the back pylon where only your receiver has the chance to make a play.

Sims is gonna be what holds the offense back. That tiger isn't changing his stripes this late in his career.
Your last paragraph is what scares me. Thinking about watching what I saw from Sims for the next 2 years makes me shudder. We'll see next week but I'm not sure I was watching some elite runner either. He certainly doesn't appear to have some incredible burst or top end speed.

He isn't gonna all of the sudden start reading coverages.

Maybe the light turns on. Probably not though.

Preacher?
He really hurt your feelings didn’t he
coaches coach

preachers preach

I saw a whole lot more of the latter leading up to and on Thursday

I expect to see a different team in Boulder. One that plays very well.

0-2? We will be lucky to win 4 games this year. We are that bad. i do not see any improvement from Mickey Joseph coaching last year. Actually, I think the coaching is worse and Rule makes 9 million a year??? Almost every College Football team I watched over the weekend on TV was better than Nebraska. We are in trouble!!!
You're going to take a lot of heat on here but you're correct. We are in a shocking position that is going to have some real world consequences soon. This was our "back against the wall" moment and we messed up.

Just curious, but how so? Unless I watched a different game Thursday, I didn't see that at all. TCU's line is bigger than Nebraska's. Ability over size in football, IMO, but size does matter.

Kong for head coach, let’s see what he can do since he’s wanting change already, in one hand he thinks we should be blowing out most big 10 teams and on the other hand he says both offensive tackles are terrible and the rest of the line is not good. So which is it?

what kind of fan calls for the head man's job after 1 game?

and wants him replaced with an anonymous message board poster?

If you're looking for an Offensive Coordinator, I'm available.

I'll start Saturday. 4 WR's, all flanked out and double stacked. Coleman, Washington, Lloyd, Doss and run their DB's till their tongues hang out.

Every 4th play will be play action, and then a RB draw play or QB keeper. We'll put their 7 in a box. The DB's have to cover, right?

Then we get to play 7 on 7 up front where we should be able to wear them down over the course of the game.

Just kidding, I love to watch college football too much.

Guaranteed, no it's not. They're pretty much the same. However our DL average is bigger than theirs.

I’ll laugh my ass off if we come out 4 wide but you have a point.

I agree completely. How is Sims going to magically start being able to see the open receivers at this point? We spent 4 years not to long ago waiting on a QB to stop fumbling and throwing interceptions, it never did stop.

I dunno, Ourlads has them at 297 and you at 301. Who knows which ate the most biscuits that day but too close to really say. Both are big.

Happens when you are brought in to improve a team but end up doing the same dumb sht as the previous coaches. That has nothing do with having your players.
Yep. Piss and moan after 1 game. Don’t even give the man a season to make improvements as they go along. Just piss and moan after one game. Y’all sure got it down.

except it's us heading to altitude and them having trained in it all offseason

Yeah I keep seeing this ridiculous strategy of "let's just run them until they're tired" and, although I know it's mostly joking, that might be one of the worst strategies I've ever heard. They just came off an 87 point game with over 1,100 yards of total offense in 110 degree heat. Travis Hunter played over 140 snaps and at the end of the game, he said he was ready to go again, and looked like he could. The altitude is only going to magnify that. If anything, we need a strategy that takes running out of the equation for the good guys. Hence the ball control, eat clock, keep their offense off the field strategy.

It DID bother me that Rhule defended his decision to go for the TD at the end of the first half, with what, 11 seconds left?

For me that was as big a WTF moment as the onside kick heard all over Ireland. I just don't get it or agree with either decision.
11 seconds is enough time for Sims to look for an easy TD and throw it out of bounds if it's not there (it was only 2nd down). The problem is that Rhule trusted Sims too much.

He isn't as dangerous as Taylor Martinez pre-injury (or even possibly AM) running the ball. He throws the ball about as well as TM. Matt Rhule should go back and look at the offense Pelini ran in 2010 as it might be our best shot at winning.

I agree the call to go for the a TD was 100% correct. But now that Sims has shown he will make mistakes then going forward they either need to just kick the FG or play a different QB. They can not spend a full season hoping Sims stops making those mistakes. Heck use split backs with Purdy or Haarberg at QB and Sims at a RB to still utilize his running talent.

I was told those kids are HBCU players who, along with their coach, would struggle at the P5 level
Did somebody actually tell you that? Sanders’ kid and Hunter could have played anywhere they wanted to. One service had Hunter as the top rated prospect in the nation.

Trying to justify his 0-1 and probable 0-2 start. He knows a good coach would start 4-0 with this schedule.

I do hope Rhule comes out of the tunnel, wearing overalls and a gigantic red cowboy hat.

That will set the tone early

Absolutely you have that right. But do you really want the rest of husker world on this board to see your whining and crying? It’s not a good look…

Now you just sound like an entitled brat. The man takes over a team that hasn’t won more than 4 games in a season for 5 years and you expected miracles game 1. He’ll turn it around. I am in the real world. The real world knows it doesn’t happen over night. Colorado had 73 players transfer out. They have an entirely different team. Deion will not be in Colorado for very long. Rhule will be in Nebraksa for a long time. Unless you whiny ass fans get him run off too.

Who was run off that didn't deserve it? Maybe Bo, he was right about Eichorst after all. The people entrusted with this program have been derelict of duty for quite some time, while the fans have been mostly right. And Rhule could have reset the roster, it's not like Deion had special rules only for him, our guy chose not to and early returns are that was a mistake. You do NOT need 3 years to turn around a program in modern football, you can tell right away who has something going and who's already lost momentum. Losing the Colorado game will cause a lot of problems, just remember I told you so.
